What If ..... Aliens landed and took over the earth

In the near future , Aliens landed and demanded the unconditional surrender of all the governments of earth. If a Government that was crazy enough to refuse their terms, let say North Korea, had its captial city blasted to hell as a show of force by the aliens and that causes the rest of world's countries to fall inline and accept the aliens terms.

We humans become a servant race of our new aliens masters and are treated in a similar way as the natives of central and south americas were treated by the "Old World" invaders centuries ago. We are exploited as cheap labour. We are expected to follow the political/social philosophy of the aliens so that we can be more easliy controled like the way the conquistadors used religion to control the natives of the new world centuries ago.

Humans are sent to the aliens homeworld and other aliens colonies to work as indentured servants. We learn new technologies and become the labour force and some even become technicians on aliens engineering projects. We are not treated at all like slaves but more like a race of so called "simple minded servants". Our lives don't carry the same value as the aliens. The Aliens masters are at the top. Humans and other conquered ailens are below them in the political/social order.

What would you do ?

Will you form a resistance group on earth and resist the aliens in the best way you can.

Will you accept alien rule and be an obediant citizen and hope you will not be drafted into the labour force that will be sent to other planets like the way slaves were sent to overseas plantations in earth's past.

Will you volunteer for out of earth deployments so that you can see the galaxy.

Will you even actively collaborate ,accepting the fact that the humans can never win their freedom from the extremely powerful aliens.

As for me i will volunteer for deployment on the alien home planet and learn about their technology and their culture. Then after many years of service, i will try to get back to earth and help humans in the best way that i can.

The reason i started this thread is because i have been reading about how the people of occupied europe coped under nazi rule during WWII. Some resisted the nazis, some joined the nazis but most passively compiled with the nazis.

I dare say if i was a frenchman or a norwegian living in occupied europe at that time , and the nazis were recruiting non german men into the SS, which they did in real life, i would have seriously given it some thoughts about joining up, considering the bleak economic situation europe was in during the war.

Have you not seen Independence Day? That's what would happen.

Yes i did see Independence Day :). I was talking about a situation where aliens wanted to capture our entire planet with minimal casualties. They need billions of humans to work as miners, servants and low skilled workers for them.

If they wanted actual material resources, they are better off mining some unhabited planet and not our earth which we have exploited at significant levels already.

They come to earth because we are sentient and hence able to listen to and obey orders and carry out low level skilled work but not techologically advanced enough to take them on.

While the chances that anything like this will ever happen are pretty much nil, it's fun science fiction, so I'll play: If alien Nazis invade I think I would be a rebel. One hears stories of innocuous young women carrying messages for the Underground in their shoes and stuff; I don't have a lot of fighting skills, but I'm rather pink and kind of cute, which apparently tends to make me come off as nonthreatening and not as intelligent as I actually am. I think this could be beneficial. I would like to see the galaxy, though, so maybe I'd play along for a bit.

No need to evoke aliens, that's our reality.

What would you do ?
I can hardly tell what I would do in such a situation. Obviously I hope I'd have the balls to fight against this injustice but I doubt I'd do it if my life were moderately comfortable.

The folks who joined the Résistance and later wrote about described the freest act of their life as something they had to do. This paradox of freedom becomes also clear in the cast of falling in love. Obviously love is a very free act and nothing you can be forced to do yet you experience it as something you cannot help.

Sign me up as an alien collaborator. I for one welcome my new highly evolved masters. Given humanity's track record, maybe we're better off subservient to a race of interstellar badasses.

A clean shaven future caveman saviour will overthrow the alien overlords. I saw the film it was called BATTLEFIELD EARTH.

It's available on netflix...with endless options for renewal. Endless options for renewal...

Perhaps the following..
Cities, nations, civilisation, progress--it's all over. That game's up. We're beat. There won't be any more blessed concerts for a million years or so; there won't be any Royal Academy of Arts, and no nice little feeds at restaurants. They ain't no further use. Those who mean to escape their catching must get ready. I'm getting ready. I'm going on, under their feet. I've been thinking about the drains. Of course those who don't know drains think horrible things; but under this London are miles and miles--hundreds of miles--and a few days rain and London empty will leave them sweet and clean. The main drains are big enough and airy enough for anyone. Then there's cellars, vaults, stores, from which bolting passages may be made to the drains. And the railway tunnels and subways. Eh? You begin to see? And we form a band--able-bodied, clean-minded men. We're not going to pick up any rubbish that drifts in. All these--the sort of people that lived in these houses, and all those damn little clerks that used to live down that way--they'd be no good. They haven't any spirit in them. I've seen them skedaddle off to work--hundreds of 'em, bit of breakfast in hand, running wild and shining to catch their little season-ticket train, for fear they'd get dismissed if they didn't; skedaddling back for fear they wouldn't be in time for dinner. Lives insured and a bit invested for fear of accidents..

...No, we have to invent a sort of life where men can live and breed, and be sufficiently secure to bring the children up. We don't know enough. We've got to learn before we've got a chance. And we've got to live and keep independent while we learn. See! That's what has to be done. And when we do learn--Just imagine this: four or five of their fighting machines suddenly starting off--Heat-Rays right and left, and not a Martian in 'em. Not a Martian in 'em, but men--men who have learned the way how. It may be in my time, even--those men. Fancy having one of them lovely things, with its Heat-Ray wide and free! Fancy having it in control! What would it matter if you smashed to smithereens at the end of the run, after a bust like that? I reckon the Martians'll open their beautiful eyes! Can't you see them, man? Can't you see them hurrying, hurrying--puffing and blowing and hooting to their other mechanical affairs? Something out of gear in every case. And swish, bang, rattle, swish! Just as they are fumbling over it, SWISH comes the Heat-Ray, and, behold! man has come back to his own.

Or perhaps I'll just get drunk and pay cards with my pals...

If the aliens looked like this, I might seriously consider it.

(Yeah, I know when they peeled off their faces they were lizards underneath. But I like lizards.)

i wrote an alien invasion story where the aliens hammered America hardest and the rest of the world had to save America.

i came up with the idea in summer 1996...

I was going to comment on this, but I can't find the appropriate words.
