Someone at Facebook realized that a tiresome bunch of obsessive loonies whining about Wanting Our Star Trek back was bringing down the level of the entire social network.

FB shot up three points on the NYSE today in the aftermath of the takedown. Well, maybe it had something to do with rumors about adding new features to Instagram, but more probably it was the takedown.

I recently saw Into Darkness and wasn't really impressed! Too much explosions and not enough story! Too much zapping and not enough explanations! Nothing like TOS in fact! I liked the first one and was happy about this alternate reality but now I'm not so sure!

What it was missing was a twenty-minute conference room scene where they explain the entire plot to the audience!

I didn't have any problems following the movie.

Facebook realized that fanboys ruin things that other people love, so Facebook took action.

Or those very fanboys suddenly realized that their impotent nerd rage accomplishes a total of zero results.

Because Star Trek means different things to different people. It's that varied. Where it gets annoyingly anal is when one person or group of like minded persons seem to claim that they know what makes the "one true Trek".
