What games are you playing currently?

I got Assassin's Creed: Rogue a while back for like $8, so I started playing it on Sunday. I like it so far, definitely better than Unity. I do wish there was a PS4 version that looked like Black Flag though.

Mass Effect 2.

Excellent game so far though the planet scanning got monotonous very quickly. I'm kinda ticked off that the DLC is still full price after six years and that it can't be bought on physical media for the 360 but that's the way it goes.

I 100%ed Far Cry Primal (very fun game) and am torn between downloading the Jack the Ripper DLC for Assassin's Creed Syndicate or playing the XBox Gaming with Gold game for the month, Sherlock Holmes: Crime and Punishment.

if it's any consolation, ME2 has the highest level of quality DLC in the whole franchise

That's what I've heard and that's why I'm still going to buy them despite my consternation. Particular praise seems to go out to Lair of the Shadow Broker while Arrival seems to serve as a great set up for Mass Effect 3. I'm still looking into Overlord, Firewalker and the Zaeed and Kasumi character missions.

finally beat Alien: Isolation. what a great game. really hard and frustrating at times but the feeling of accomplishment once you beat a stage (and the game) is so rewarding. as a kid i was never afraid of the Alien...and here i am as an adult getting anxious cause its in the same room with me.

thinking about downloading Resident Evil 0 HD.

Zaeed, Kasumi and Overlord are well worth it. Firewalker has vehicle sections that are... a nice change of pace for some people, and completely clunky for others ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'd say check it out if you're looking for a DLC that is different.

Maybe you only want new games but last night I unearthed my PS2 and started Vice City again from scratch. Man alive that was a great experience. As a result I shall mostly be listening to Roxy Music whilst I strip one of the kids bedrooms now.

been returning for a bit to Forza Horizon 2 (XBONE), that game continues to give me the mediterranean holiday feels

I picked up a used Wii U in anticipation of Star Fox Zero next week (LOVE those games... well, Star Fox and Star Fox 64, never played any of the others as they looked craptacular). With it, I picked up Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Donkey Kong looks amazing in HD) and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD (the controls are wonkier than I remember them being on my GameCube playthrough, so hopefully I'll get used to them again).

Dan Ryckert says it makes him doubt whether or not Starfox 64 was any good because it's extremely similar (which is actually what he thought he wanted)

that should give you pause, since he's a fan and usually very forgiving of/soft on Nintendo products

I've never been a huge fan of Starfox games. So I'm not planning on buying it, perhaps renting it, but surely the problem in there is nostalgia. I want a game like that... on hang on it's 15 years later and that game now would be rubbish without the rose tinted specs.

I've been playing Star Fox and Star Fox 64 pretty regularly since they were both released, so I'm not looking at them with my nostalgia glasses on (or, if I am, the nostalgia is deeply buried in my subconscious). If Star Fox Zero is similar to 64, then that's okay by me!
