Revulsion. Thankfully I have very few picture of me, and even fewer from when I could still be called a kid by anyone but Mallory.

Actually, I think we're on the same page here. I hate to be photographed, so at best I think I get my picture taken about once a year. And I have no pictures of myself from before I was about 35, so there aren't any emotions involved since they don't exist.

Amused contentedness, would best describe it. Childhood SUCKED. I'm glad to be rid of the overwhelming stress and anxiety! I'm glad that I'm no longer agoraphobic, that I lost weight, and that I am about a million times happier.

It would be much too easy to make a disparaging comment about the disappointment I have felt with the course of my life so I'll say I enjoy looking at childhood pictures of me when I am looking at them with my girlfriend. It makes me happy to know the kid in the picture found someone who loves him and whom he could love.

Some photos bring happy memories, but a lot of the time I feel anger. I look at the pictures and think about all the horrible things that were happening when they were taken, and how good I was at pretending that everything was fine.

I know some people might not be sure of the answer, because it's something that most people proaly don't think about and most people don't really look at childhood pics of themselves to even recall what feelings they were having, the last time they did look at a old photo of themselves.

For me though the answer is sadness. Do childhood pics ever make you feel sad? You ever look at yourself and feel bad for the kid, knowing he/she will grow up to be you? That he/she will have to deal with all your pain.

Oh my god, I feel exactly the same way. I always feel sad. I was very happy as a child so I long to go back. And I feel bad when I think that as a child, I never imagined things would turn out so bad when I grew up. I was so full of aspirations and hopes for the future but now everything is so depressing for me. It's like looking at another person really.

When I look at a pic I have from when I was about one or two, I feel happy. Then kinda sad. In it and a lot of pic up until I'm about seven or so I'm this happy, hyper kid who wasn't afraid of anything except the dark and ghosts. Then around there and especially a few years later the smile starts dimming and my shape bloating. Pics taken during my teens are just horrible.

It's not until pics taken in the last few years that I've started being okay with seeing myself in pictures again.

Sometimes I look at my childhood photos and am wistful for times that were a bit more simple, or at least felt that way. Then again, sometimes I wonder if that child saw me today, would he approve? What would he think?

Yes...wisful mixed in with some pain because most people in all the photos are now dead. I tend not to revist them much.

Usually embarrassment or frustration, as in "why the hell did you pose like that? Why the hell were you wearing that? Damn you were such a loser back then. If only I could go back in time and do things over again..." Suffice to say, my childhood and adolescence sucked.

Every once in a while, I'll come across pictures of me and my friends from the high school years and feel sentimental because I remember having fun that day, or I miss spending so much time hanging out with them, doing absolutely nothing. Those were the days!

I look at the kid and go, "Wow, you look awkward. Good thing you'll grow out of that."

The same here... though I haven't finished growing out of it.

I don't feel much of anything, I just think "Hey look, an image of me!"

I don't get the feeling that he's a poor bastard because he's going to turn into me, I don't feel that he's lucky because he is going to become me, and I don't want to be him... because I am him. I don't think of my childhood as a separate part of myself, I may have changed since then but I am still me.
