What each Doctor would think of there succesors

Crewman47

Commodore
Newbie
Now I know that the first five Doctors have met at least once and 5 met 10 recently but I can't recall if anything was ever mentioned or implied as to what the previous thought of the future Docs so I was wondering what would it be like if all 10 were to meet either at the same time or at different times? For example what do you think Doc 1 would say about Docs 6 through 10 if he had a chance to meet them?

Any thoughts?

The Ten Doctors webcomic shows the 2nd and 7th Doctors getting along very famously, probably the most friendly out of all the Doctor combinations, thanks to their short, eccentric, lighthearted ways. They both sing old college songs as well.

That strip also shows The Sixth Doctor loathing The Fourth and The First having stern words for The Ninth about his relationship with Rose.

God forbid the First ever ran into the Sixth. Yikes! Talk about fireworks.

romance in the air? 0_o or do you mean "sparks fly" cause "fireworks" usually means that they hit it off so well it was like kismet.

anyway to put it simply this is what each doctor thinks of the next: "he's good, but not as good as i was." i think it's pretty much safe to say that.

Which is really kinda odd when you think about it, because, really, the First Doctor is a kid next to the Ninth...

That always struck me as odd as well when they really should be treating him like the snot-nosed kid of the bunch.

Well okay, poor choice. How about 'fur would fly', 'shit would hit the fan' etc? :)

Don't forget the 2nd and 6th doctor met also in the 'Two Doctors'.

It didn't play this way in the other multi-Doctor stories, but in the first one, "The Three Doctors," the Doctors started out as hostile and contemptuous towards one another and slowly achieved some degree of respect for each other. Remember the words of the First Doctor (and I'm quoting from memory here, so please excuse any inaccuracy), "So, these are my replacements: a clown and a dandy!" Three refers to Two as "that little fellow" and makes derogatory remarks about his clothing (sorry, can't remember the exact words), to which Two replies "Fancy Pants!" There was a real sense that the "newer" Doctors had to prove themselves to their predecessors and that the "older" Doctors were regarded by their successors as early, imperfect models.

Agreed!

Also, wasn't it that the 4th Doctor (in the webcomic) was hostile towards the 6th, not the other way around? And it was the 3rd Doctor that chastised the 9th about his relationship with Rose...

I'm reminded of those movies and TV shows where characters somehow go back in time and meet their younger selves, or at least younger selves of other characters. Turns out that the kids tend to have a lesson or a pearl of wisdom for the older crowd.

So perhaps that's how someone like the First Doctor could be revered by all others?

The Fourth Doctor would probably think that the subsequent Doctors have scarf envy. The Seventh Doctor's scarf doesn't count. It's too puny. :)
