What DON’T you like about the show?

Have you finished it yet? I genuinely found she became a lot more likeable as the series went on. She's not my favourite character in LD, but she's getting better.

Might have been said elsewhere, but the way they treat some species annoys me. I know it's a comedy and they are not real, but the cat jokes and Ferengi jokes aren't very Next Gen Star Trek. They are quite Bones TOS attitudes, and I could do without them. It's a small gripe and doesn't ruin my enjoyment of the show, but in this day and age laughing at physical characteristics of a species at their expense doesn't sit well.

Love the show though!

This may be sacrilege around these here parts, but.... Jonathon Frakes. The moves to fit that guy into every series is just dull now. We get it, he has no life out of trek.
He will be in Discovery season 4, you heard it here first.

Dull how?
I like an Easter egg or three, I like a returning character or two. I love a cross over. I enjoy recurring characters or little titbits (tidbits for my American friends) that brings the “universe” of Star Trek together.
But shoe horning Frakes into every single series is just a bit OTT for me. Am I right in thinking Discovery is the only series since TNG in which he has not appeared (yet?)

I mean, if he didn't appear (and this was an ongoing thing for Picard) there would be questions of "Where is he at?" Frakes is also directing a lot of episodes for Trek productions too. So, it makes a little bit more sense to have him appear in shows that are close to the same time frame.

If he appears in Discovery then I'll roll my eyes. But, the ongoing demand for familiar characters will persist.

I don’t get it... Frakes has been doing a lot of directing in the last couple of decades and has, as he himself said, almost stopped acting. He has worked on a lot of non-Star trek projects in that time so I think saying he hasn’t anything else beside Star Trek isn’t fair.

Riker’s appearances in Picard weren’t originally planned, but I wouldn’t say they were shoehorned in, in fact I think they worked out really well.
The Lower Decks S1 finale demanded a “hero ship” to save the day and it made sense for her to be a known one, they could have went with the enterprise, the defiant or the voyager, I guess, but Frakes and Sirtis were available, so it made a lot of sense to finally show the titan. I think they did it really well and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens there with Boimler.
Frakes’ episode on DS9 turned out being fantastic, imho, his really brief appearance on Voyager, like Burton’s, was unnecessary but ultimately inconsequential.
The only sour grape for me was TATV, but I can’t really blame it on him.

I’m sure Frakes will direct more episodes in the newcoming seasons of Discovery and new series, but I don’t think he will act there. Unless there is a stir where it makes sense, then I’ll be fine with it.

I’m also sure he will appear again on Picard but it would hardly ring true saying that Riker, or any TNG cast member, doesn’t belong there,

Everything, annoying characters, wrong kind of humor, too much "humor", the opening sequence that treats the ship and crew as incompetent and cowards. It's just B A D. The only good parts were seeing the Pakleds, Riker, Troi and the Titan.

I'm really not interested in Prodigy after how Lower Decks has turned out. I am looking forward to Strange New Worlds.

Huh? The only part of the opening credits that could make the crew look "incompetent" is when they scrape the ice mountain, and even that's is vague enough that context could rationally explain it. But in what way does the credit sequence make them look like cowards?

The whole concept of the title sequence is to make them come off as not particularly competent, heroic or graceful. Frankly, that's the whole idea of the show centered around a “lower decks” crew on an average (i.e. not the flagship) kinda starship. It's a comedy show, you know?

The problem is that the scene is taken totally out of context and just to make them look bad. In context it could make sense.
I mean, the ship is shown to be more a workhorse not a combat ship. It doesn't take much to imagine a context.

But, I suppose the scene plays their caution as cowardice for a joke. I think the whole credits sequence is dumb so I don't give it much weight.

Pretty much. The title sequence is by far the worse thing about the series in my opinion.

Which, all considered, is not a bad thing at all!

Interesting. I think the title sequence is pretty much perfect. How they manage to have them both look foolish and present the ship and space itself as wonderous and majestic at the same time is pretty amazing. It helps that the music sounds rather heroic and the effects look *chef's kiss*. It's a perfect equivalent to the dichotomy present in the show's concept.
