What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the film?

I have just been thinking I wonder what happens with old Spock at the end of the film? Do you think at the end he will return to the 24th century and everything will be back to normal? Or maybe they will kill him off (I hope not). Or maybe he takes his time ship to the 26th century and becomes a Time Cop! :)

I have a feeling it will be a sort of a planet of the apes moment and he will get back to the 24th century and everything will look like its normal at first then something will be very wrong. Like maybe he will radio starfleet to give his report and instead of a normal starfleet person answering the Romulans now run the Federation or something big like that and the movie will end with a cliff hanger. I just have a hunch this movie is going to end with a big Cliff-Hanger of some sort involving Spock in the 24th Century thinking he has fixed the past only to find out he has not.

So what do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the movie?

I don't know. But they'd better not kill him. The ending of Wrath of Khan was hard enough!

I fear Nimoy wanted another good death scene, the whore. (kidding!)

It would be nice if they just let him ride off into the sunset, but I doubt it.

Hopefully he tries to repair further timeline damage by going back to 2008 and stapling William Shatner's mouth shut.

I expect he'll die saving the past, or will eliminate his own timeline and fade from existence...

Fading has my vote. Laughing, of course, his hands filled with cash.

He returns to find the Twin Pines mall is now the Lone Pine Mall. :)

I think they'll find a way to close the story up nicely instead of leaving it hanging. I'm not sure Nimoy would be up to playing the role again in 2-3 years. I suspect they won't show anything conclusive. He'll probably just exit scene and maybe back on his ship say something with a bit of foreshadowing and that will be that. The rest will be up to our imaginations.

The final scene will be Kirk and Spock, smoking cigars on Kirk's balcony.

Shady Pines :)

Nah, that's where he is at the beginning of the film but due to a hot plate fire is forced to travel back in time to stop Nero since he has no other relatives living in Florida.

The funny thing is that if they want to treat this version of Star Trek as reshaping the existing timeline, there's absolutely no reason Kirk couldn't have been resurrected -- Spock just returns to the 24th century, altered but in good shape because of the events in this film, and Kirk is alive. It would be something of the reverse of City on the Edge of Forever.

I have to say I'm more interested in what gets him into the movie in the first place. That is, how does he know something is wrong in the timeline?

That said, I'm sure old Spock's last scene will be with young Spock. Something sentimental. Something weepy. A share of the Vulcan salute. Old Spock telling young Spock to live long and prosper as he fades back into his time. Young Spock saying, "Apparently, I do." Well, maybe not young Spock's response. But if Abrams doesn't have a "torch passing" between the Spocks, then I'm asking for a refund at the end of the picture.

Maybe that's a clue that the timeline doesn't get changed too much.

Easy. He will remember Nero, this pain in the butt of the galaxy from the future. Due to causality problems he can't return to the past to fix those problems until Nero jumps back in time also. If he would prevent Nero from doing so before, he would not remember the Romulan from the future to prevent him from going back and I have gone cross-eyed!

I seem to recall reports back while filming was still underway of a shared salute between Old Spock and Young Spock. Was that ever confirmed, or shown to be an unfounded a rumor, or did I perhaps merely imagine that I read it?

Full circle, maybe. :shifty:

The film will progress as it does, then at the last closing moments, the J.J.Prise, currently in 25th century orbit of Vulcan per request, disapears in a puff of smoke and explosion (To much delight of the audience).

Old Spock flips his communicator. "Enterprise? Enterprise, this is Prime 'Rib' Spock here..."

A guy in a robot/armoured looking suit pulls up on a hover-bike.

"Are you Mr. Spock? Are you Prime Spock? Ive got something for you... A letter!"
"Thats impossible, more improbable... Who are you?"
"Intergalactic Union. Weve had that letter in our possession for the past... 170 years. It was left with implicite instructions to deliver it this exact moment, of this date to someone answering to Spock. Me and a few guys at the office kinda doubted youd be here, looks like lost "

Dear Spock.

The timeling has been repaired, dont worry. All is ok. I have been living her happily in the year 2240. I have been keeping a low profile as a local surgeon and have carved out quite a remarkable carreer here fixing everything that once went wrong. Its amazing that just a humble country doctor can achieve this much.

I will return in 15 years to the exact moment i was taken and join the current 'fixed timeline' at my correct age, and join Starfleet the correct historical way.

Your friend in time.

Doc. McCoy

"Whats up, pal? You need help?"
"Theres only one man who can help me now..."

Turns up infront of young Spock before he meets Kirk....

* I know its another Back to the Future joke, but i couldnt resist, i watched it the other night and its still in my head.

Well...
supposedly Spock and Spock do meet but it's more of an accident, like the scene in Back to the Future, Part II with the two Docs.

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

Young Kirk looks over his Shoulder and See's Ghost Spock,Mcoy and Kirk standing there smiling, but for some reason Ghost Kirk is not wearing the same uniform as he did when he died and nobody else can see them, then credits roll
