What do people think of SNW (spoiler free please)

not to create too many spoilers but I was amazed and oddly at peace with all the gratuitous full-frontal nudity, the revelation that horses did not survive the eugenics wars (Pike raised holo horses!?), the hidden clue being in the last surviving Faberge egg, Colt's soulful singing of ABBA's Fernando, and the recipe for colored food cubes. I hope none of that interrupts your own experience when you finally watch it.

Male?

Much closer to traditional trek in terms of format, ambience as well as mood. Give it a shot if that is your thing.

Pacing much much better than Discovery and Picard. Love that they are going with a more episodic formula. The premiere episode was not great but not awful either. I have been vocal about some continuity issues with some aesthetics, characters etc. but getting past that....pretty sure I'm gonna enjoy it more than the other two shows. Despite some issues i have with the reworked 1701. Its is a FABULOUS rework and still maintains the iconic silhouette.

Oh and the opening is really good and we FINALLY get the return of the TOS Font and an almost full reworked TOS theme song...:D

I'm a stickler for continuity. As I mentioned i had a few issues with it. At this point though the prodcuers of these shows dont seem to care as much as previous runners. Everyone is gonna vary on what they will tolerate that's changed.

Cautiously optimistic so far....

A pretty much unanimous Yay? Is that a first for Star Trek?! Sure as heck feels like it. It is off to a great start and I’m looking forward to the next episode.
The consensus is astonishing. But then, after all these decades so is the show.

We did not have this for TNG. I remember being startled about three weeks after it premiered when an acquaintance at a barbecue started raving about how great it was - he was a casual fan, and the first person I'd encountered who didn't have some objection to it. And it went on that way, for years...

It is confidently Trek and unashamed of being somewhat of a Disco spinoff. If Stacey Abrams is the US politician who made a cameo that represented Discovery, Eric Adams (Mayor of NYC, often parodied on Saturday Night Live) would be the US politician who would embody Strange New Worlds (same/similar ideas to generations past but with all the swagger)

I absolutely LOVE SNW. I suspected it was going to become my favorite Trek series of all time, and now I'm almost sure it will. And I've only seen the first episode!
