What do people think of SNW (spoiler free please)

yay

not to create too many spoilers but I was amazed and oddly at peace with all the gratuitous full-frontal nudity, the revelation that horses did not survive the eugenics wars (Pike raised holo horses!?), the hidden clue being in the last surviving Faberge egg, Colt's soulful singing of ABBA's Fernando, and the recipe for colored food cubes. I hope none of that interrupts your own experience when you finally watch it.

I'd rate it about average for Star Trek. There were parts that bored me, parts that annoyed me and parts that left me wondering what the writer was thinking, but they were balanced out by the parts that entertained me. It has the right kind of attitude and some decent characters,

Yay!

Born right as TNG started, but turned off to it, I've craved a return to the wild adventurism of TOS that Trek lost sometime in the berman era. Perhaps in trying to be too serious?

SNW is the first time I've been eager for a show and want to immediately own it. The only reason I'm fearful of other episodes is whether or not they'll live up to how great the first episode was.
