What did you think the future would be like?

I was also expecting that maybe we'd lick anti-gravity by now, but apparently not.

As far as I'm aware creating gravity is a theoretical impossibility. Centripetal, or Centrifugal(don't want to start that discussion) force is not gravity. Unless Graviton particles go from theory to reality, and we learn how to manufacture gravitational effects with them, I don't think anti gravity as it's portrayed in sci-fi is even possible.

If someone knows better though feel free to correct me.

You could artificially adjust the mass of an object which would naturally increase the gravitational force acting upon it. Install these below deck plating and you have artificial gravity.

Hopefully the ship doesn't collapse in on itself.

I grew up in the 80s (born 1975) and i certainly didn't expect consumer electronics to become so ubiquitous and powerful.

I remember the time when mobile phones came onto the market (i earned the money for my first stereo equipment by handing out flyers for one of the first providers) and people made fun of them mostly but it caught on quickly and then became part of life.

Even more so i didn't expect the Internet to happen like it did but when i first gained access i was amazed at the possibilities and ease of access of information (my mom is still surprised even today that i can find her any information in seconds without looking up phonebooks or anything else that was used back then). It sure changed life for all humanity.

On the sad part of the future i didn't expect the world to become so dangerous, especially after 9/11. Everything that's been going on concerning terrorism can be traced directly to that day and the reasons why 9/11 happened at all and it's especially worse after i had high hopes that humanity may finally grow up after some very positive and mostly peaceful fall of Communism.

What? The world was dangerous before 9/11. People just didn't hear about it because it didn't happen in Murica. And the world continues to be dangerous despite 9/11. And when did communism fall?

Duodenums are great, though. Especially with mustard.

Surely you mean duodenums are happy when they are peristalting mustard? Otherwise I think you are talking about chittlins. Which honestly sound terrible, although they are eaten around the world. But so are bugs. Yech.

No, seriously, there's nothing like a McDuodenum with a side of fries.
