What did you think of Space Leia? (last jedi spoilers I guess)

Instead of this thread, I'm surprised there isn't one about how she's actually going to die now.

I guess the "honor" of killing the character has been passed back to JJ, and this isn't something he can just throw off a cliff.

Opening Crawl of 9? Throwaway line? Full Conversation?

I say she'll just not die, but make it through the film off screen. Maybe they'll use a CG body double, No doubt they made one for episode 8.

No need to actively kill her in the next one. She's simply already dead. We're 2-4 years later, the new Rebellion is rebuilt stronger than ever under her leadership and deft political maneuvering, but the years have taken their toll and General Dameron says his final goodbye before her funeral Pyre just as OMGPLOT happens.

If Leia will not be recast (as I assume she won't), and not re-created by CGI (which has actually been confirmed), then logically she MUST already be dead by the time Episode IX comes out, as I highly doubt they'll just have her alive but offscreen for the whole movie.

I suppose, now that we know she must die, they can just attribute it to lasting effects of her exposure to space in TLJ.

If it was meant as a tribute, it caused the franchise to jump the shark to me. Not to mention ignoring the laws of physics, which I know Star Wars plays fast and loose with at times, but still...
Space Lazer Wizards can alter the minds of the weak, sense emotions and read thoughts, see the future, create life from nothing, heal the wounds of others, lift and throw enormous items and spaceships with their minds, catch blaster bolts in midair, kill a person over an interplanetary distance and turn into a ghost that is capable of intergalactic teleportation.

But still... what? They can't survive in space for thirdy seconds longer than other people? Takes a while to die in space. And it's a small thing to move 50 kilograms in microgravity, especially when you're pulling towards a larger object and have had 30 years to practice.

They may have been planning something with her in IX.
They said before her death that IX would be her movie, and that she would have the biggest role yet in that one. The idea was supposed to be that TFA was Han's movie, TLJ was Luke's, and IX was supposed to be Leia's.
