what did you like about enterprise

TATV aside, NO HOLODECKS BUGGERING UP!!!! I can't stand that genre of episode! You think after the second or third such incident they would refine the system, but no! :brickwall: This however was somewhat balanced out by the overuse of time-travel in Enterprise!

Now that I'm watching DS9 DVDs, I'm noticing the incidental music in ENT more (DS9 has very little). ENT is scored like a movie, with orchestral music underlying the dialogue and great act-out emphasis to really ratchet up the tension.

There also seems to be less "telling" instead of "showing." We're more likely to see the alien ship move off, rather than have Hoshi tell us, "Direct hit. They're moving off."

And, of course, ENT has those muddy moral dilemmas: when characters do the wrong thing for the right reasons, or the right thing for the wrong reasons, and it doesn't all work out nicely in the end.

I loved the Trop/Malcolm relationship especially in the earliest episodes. They were always egging each other on and getting themselves into trouble.
As an example, I love the episode on Risa where Trip and Malcolm are on a mission to get laid, only to end up getting themselves kidnapped and robbed . . .priceless!

While some found it a bad thing, I actually LIKED the fact that Archer made some morally questionable decisions and threatened to push people out of airlocks. Guess what, this guy's not some vanilla hero; he's actually just a guy trying to complete a mission.

Likewise, I loved that the crew actually made mistakes.

I love that battle damage was actually shown.

Not every Admiral was incompetent.

   I've never seen it expressed quite that way before.

Here's my latest contribution:

More good stuff:
Trip learning Malcolm was getting to know Ruby in the biblical sense *ouch!* while Trip was trying to marry her. Pretty awkward if Trip had actually guessed those kids’ names!
Archer deciding to return to Earth after the NX-01 got its butt kicked in Silent Enemy.
The grappler.
Trip's lashes!

Vulcans coming to the rescue even when Archer was being a pain in the ***.
Soval and Archer kissing and making up at the end of the Vulcan arc.
Cuddly selahts.
Creepy Silent Enemy aliens
Did I mention Tucker?
Trip MacGyver

Little moments
Trip giving T’Pol peaches
Archer with Porthos while the poor little pup was sick
Archer talking to Travis after his dad died
Archer and T’Pol having their picture taken at the opening of Strange New World (+ “where no dog had gone before!”; Trip trippin’; T’Pol speaking Vulcan).
Anytime Trip was s’Trippin’
Archer’s “Whack a Shran” victory in United.
Shran talking with Trip about losing a sibling in Proving Ground and in the end giving him the technology he asked for.
Shran in any scene he’s in (OT: How to luscious to imagine Shran in a MU episode!)
Sim telling T’Pol he & Trip loved her; Sim’s apology to Phlox just before he submitted to the surgery (heartbreaking).
Archer’s transport to safety in Broken Bow (God, I LOVE the look on his face when he realizes where he is!)
Trip and Ahlen in the ice cube scene and later in the row boat
Trip and Lorian working together
Trip and T’Les just before the tragedy

Big moments
Enterprise NX-01 leaves spacedock in Broken Bow
Expanse teaser
Twilight: destruction of Earth; subsequent sight of the settlement; destruction of the NX-01 bridge.
NX-01 drifting through space at the end of Azati Prime
Destruction of the mining colony in Shockwave
NX-01 damage in Minefield
The deaths of Trip and Hoshi in OE

Cool moments
Archer kills Dolim!
Archer “shot out of the cannon” in Cold Station 12
Trip fakes a warp core breach
Trip gets in Archer’s face because he’s ignoring the danger of the Deadalus experiment
Reed shoots T’Pol
IaMD (OK, so it’s not exactly a moment! :p )

I've bashed Enterprise a few times but it did have some great things going for it.

I liked the last season, some of the episodes were fantastic
Really enjoyed what LeVar Burton did in directing
The FX were great in this series
Thought the Andorians had a great storyline
and some of the cast really did a fantastic job
