What Did You Have For Dinner Last Night?

We had some pretty awful Chinese take-out last night.

Currently, I'm marinating some butterfly pork chops in honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice and just a little bit of balsamic vinegar. I haven't figured out what I'm going to prepare alongside the chops, though ... probably applesauce and salad. Maybe some steamed broccoli.

MARRY ME!!!!!

Last night we had chicken soup that i made fresh during the day. I love soups and stews in the winter.

Ham with a pineapple-brown sugar glaze, fruit salad and Asian cabbage salad, with blueberry buckle for dessert. The dessert is one of my husband's favorites (kind of odd since he claims to not like blueberries all that much, a thing which passes my understanding), so I made it for him as a special Valentine treat.

Lemon cake, yummmm...

My wife is up in Madison, now, 90 miles away, working at her new job ... so I think tonight is a few Hebrew National hot dogs, maybe with a bit of cheddar cheese.

Veal marsala and angel hair pasta with butter and parmesan. Took my wife out for dinner for Valentines Day.

Nothing.

I ended up sleeping all day and into the night...not feeling too well.

:(

I made a homemade fish chowder. Tomato based, with onion, potato, parsnip, turnip, and celery. Just before I served it I tossed in some salmon and shrimp. My wife made bread sticks.

It was yummy!

I sliced some chilcken, boiled it slightly and then finished it in a pan with some teriyaki sauce. THen cut up some raw veggies, boiled some egg noodles and served it all separately along with rice paper sheets. We took the sheets, dipped them in a bowl of hot water and proceeded to make our own spring roll wraps. Amazingly delish!
