What Changes Would You Like To See In "Patterns of Force"?

AC84

Another effects light episode, but the question still stands none-the-less. The nuclear rocket warhead is an obvious and easy choice. My brother wants them to change the heat beam used from the rubindium crystals.

I haven't watched this one in a while.

I'd like to see the hot blond Nazi woman with a ball-gag on, I suppose. Maybe a gimp mask on Spock, when he's dressed like a stormtrooper.

Joe, latexed

-Ekosian nuclear missile at the beginning changed to look a lot more realistic, as well as its detonation and explosion. It's a NUKE. Make it look and act like one.

-Some of that grainy newsreel footage from the real Nazi regime and WWII needs to be replaced with CGI b&w images of Ekosian spacecraft and military vehicles. For shit's sake, you can see HITLER in the final microseconds of one of those newsreel shots.

S'not Hitler, it's an Ekosian engaged in Cosplay.

Meh. At least make the newsreels look a little less like something that ran verbatim before a 1944 Bugs Bunny cartoon.

This is no-brainer

1. Insert footage from ENTERPRISE's Storm Front where applicable.

2. After the Furher is shot, show Redjac fleeing his body. Adds a nice bit of mystery.

3. How kewl would it be to see a Klingon Bird of Prey with a big ol' Nazi Swaztika on its wings? HELLA-KEWL!

I'm hoping Melakon's uniform shirt actually has a few bullet holes on it when he's shot dead at the end of the episode. For years now I giggle a little when the Deputy Fuhrer is offed and the invasion of Zeon is preempted. Melakon is drilled by gunfire from close range, but just grimaces and crumples to the floor. I know this was shot in 1968 and standards and practices prohibited unnecessary blood and violence, but it makes it look like he was shot at with blanks and he collapses from a heart attack instead.

I'd change Melakon's face when he gets shot. The actor did a horrible job there. The look on the guy's face is over the top and makes him look like a cartoon character.

He was more believable and interesting as Dr. Sevrin in Season 3...which may or may not be a sad thing, depending who you are.

Dude that's sad. Way to Eden sucked donkey kong sized balls.

Yet every time I see it I not only enjoy it but find worthwhile elements within it.

The irony here is that you have 2 Jewish actors faking being Nazi soldiers. The sweet revenge that must have been for Shatner and Nimoy.

Maybe so. And I agree to a big extent. But perhaps that says more about Skip Homeier's bad, wooden job in "Patterns" than my opinion of Dr. Sevrin in "Eden." :D

I would have settled for some actual consistency in the Nazi uniforms. As it stands, there was no pattern to it at all. They just took a random jumble of uniforms and stuck it on the various characters without rhyme or reason. Same goes for rank insignia. I don't think they even got THAT right.

Was the costume designer out to lunch that week or what?
