What are your thoughts on P+ TV Movies?

Skydance may well want TV Trek output severely cut down in order to make cinema Trek a higher priority for Trekkies.

Remember when the Kelvin movies were being released, there was a 10 year no-compete from CBS, hence Discovery missing the 50th anniversary.

Yep. I would think that their logic would be: Why would someone pay an inflated movie ticket price, pay for overpriced snacks & drinks, or even take the time to actually go to a theater at all, in a time when theater-going is on the decline, if they can watch the same content at home on their TVs?

OTOH, Trek accounts for a significant proportion of the high quality programming available on P+. No new Trek TV shows for an extended period would undoubtedly reduce the amount of subscribers quite a bit. Also, we now have a pluralistic Trek universe with different shows set in different eras to appeal to different people. Only make for instance more stuff of the Kelvin/Discovery style and fans of the older continuity, the sort of people who enjoyed for instance Picard, will be left out in the cold, and thus spend less money on Trek.

The Skydance deal is off, so everything feels like back to square one, as far as any kind of merger is concerned.
