What are your opinions regarding Star Trek that are, shall we say, unorthodox?

People have said the same thing to me five times in a row, and I've responded. Why is it okay for them to keep making the same comment to me? Why aren't they asked to move on? Had I kept bringing it up on my own five times and they were the ones reacting, I'd understand your concern being directed at me, but that's not the case.

THEM: You're don't like people viewing it as a military.
ME: You're misunderstanding.

You're correct it's repetitive, but I don't understand you're singling out one side. When I told them they were misunderstanding, they could have dropped it just as easily as me.

Okay…

Posters are not allowed to derail threads by arguing with staff, which you’re doing now. There is a process for disputing warnings, but you didn’t even get one.

I’ve told you to drop it. Twice. I hoped you’d take the hint and move on.

Clearly that’s not the case.

Lay off the personal commentary and off-topic posting.

Anything further and there’ll be more formal action.

Roddenberry was drug-addled and doing anything for a dollar by the time TNG rolled around.
Plus, he didn't write most of the TNG bible - it was mostly David Gerrold.

It's also interesting the specific changes he noted on the early March draft of the bible:

That little addition of "primarily" indicates his attitudes were still pretty consistent from the TOS bible.

Oh no, we're stuck in the 'is Starfleet a military' time loop again. I'm going to have to do something to push us out of the way.

Starfleet Academy (the TV series) actually has Starfleet Academy (the school) split between the academy and the military college, with the series showing Starfleet finding itself after a rough 100 years or so by returning to the academy way of thinking, rather than the military.

No, that's not enough, I'm going to have to do something more drastic.

My unorthodox opinion is... Nurse Chapel should've never been a character in Strange New Worlds. Every storyline she has drags the series down and often Spock with her. Jess Bush is great, I would've liked to see her in another role, but complicating Chapel like this hasn't improved SNW or TOS.
