They actually have the scene in the novel. It's a bit gruesome. You get to know the Scientists better, tho.I never thought about that until you mentioned it. Great catch!
Well, Khan was a ruthless warlord/warrior. He probably already knew that, along with many other effective ways to kill someone.

In Space Seed, when Khan puts a knife to McCoy's throat, McCoy tells Khan exactly the best way to do it (like a Boss).
My opinion is that, by telling Khan how to do that, McCoy told Khan exactly how to kill the Scientists (and one Cook) at the Regula 1 station in The Wrath of Khan.
After years of CSI most people know the best way to do that.
STiD is better than ST09 - Yes I'm serious.

Beyond was better than both of them.
It's funny because a lot of the moments are slightly improved and make for a more lively performance.

Also, the biggest humor I get from TVH is the garbage men seeing the can get crushed.
One of my most controversial opinions: TVH is not funny. It's not a bad movie. I find it charming in a hokey kind of way, and that (even though there's this world-destroying threat in the background) it can focus on a relatively low-stakes story for most of its runtime. But I simply don't find "fish out of water" style humor where people do embarrassing things to be funny, just cringe.

While I love all the Kelvin films, as they are very much Trek to me, I think 09 and Beyond showcase the broader teamwork aspects of Trek, while ID is more of Kirk's personal journey. It's still a good film, but not quite about 09 and Beyond. It varies though.STiD is better than ST09 - Yes I'm serious.
Beyond is the only Kelvinverse film that feels remotely like Star Trek to me.
