What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

That makes it more realistic, as humanity generally sucks when in a relationship. ;)
But there's nothing remotely realistic or interesting about Star Trek's stilted, forced romances of the week.
The humans were lousy at relationships, the inter-species couples did very well
Sarek/Amanda
Worf/Jadzia
Leeta/Rom
Paris/Torres
Exception
Sisko/Cassidy
Miles/Keiko
Inter-species? :vulcan:

The alternative Miles O'Brien statue was him holding a Cardassian head, bare-chested, and wearing a phaser bandolier.

The Federation thought this didn't represent their values.

Stupid Federation value, I want that bare Chested miles O'Brien statue! Colm Meaney is actually one of the hotter/cuter guys in Star Trek...

DS9 and VOY should be upgraded to HD.

I just got a new TV a week ago, and I'm afraid to watch DS9 or VOY on it. They already looked bad on my old TV. Now I'm worried that they'll look like shit on a 52" 4K TV screen.

Last time I watched DS9 thru Netflix it did it’s best to upconvert the picture. Not HD but still better than what you get on BBCA or H&I.

I say this from my bomb shelter because I'm sure I'll be eviscerated for it, but, I think the DS9 pilot, Emissary, is boring as hell. I can never seem to make it through in one sitting.

Ezri/Bashir was boring. I honestly and truly didn't give a rat's hind end about them as a couple, and I don't buy into Ezri's line "if Worf hadn'tcome along it would've been you"; Jadzia was about as into Julian as Picard was into Lwaxana. But I will admit, given that Bashir got dumped for a Ferengi, they had to give him something.

On the other hand, while I know it was impractical while they were flying home, I liked Janeway/Chakotay. Not going to say they're my head canon pairing though... if I did that, something would probably happen to louse it up.

I think that was the one redeeming factor of Ezri/Julian. I felt that he was constantly getting the short straw and his whole relationship with Leela felt weird to me. But, I like Ezri a bit more than Jadzia so I'm biased.

Dull uninspired variation of the character. After watching Terry Farrell, Ezri was like watching paint dry.
I feel like you and I have very different definitions of "dull" when it comes to characters.

Jadzia was interesting enough but the Klingon connection was so painful and forced that I just was interested. Ezri was someone searching for belonging and I enjoyed her interplay with Garak and even Worf.

I guess. I couldn't maintain focus when she was on the screen, just drifted off to looking at the ceiling or the junk mail. They should've moved Dax entirely out of the show when Farrell decided to leave.

Yeah, probably but that wouldn't change a whole lot other than a name if that's the type of character they wanted.
