Honestly, I hope SFA takes place in the 25th century when Star Trek: Legacy is purported to take place.

That would make it interesting, and Tawny can also Cameo as a older version of her character along with the rest of the Lower Decks Cast playing older versions of themselves as well.

There would be a 22 year time gap between "Lower Decks" and when 'Star Trek: Legacy' is supposed to be happening in 2402 AD

Well, finally I DID work up the guts to watch "Subspace Rhapsody".

Let's just say I didn't enjoy it. I could barely look at the screen. In fact I cringed so hard I almost threw my back out.

    How's that for controversial?

You have to be in the mood for it. If you're in the mood for it, you're in the mood for it. If not, forget it.

That's my take. I enjoyed it, but didn't have time to finish it. Then I got side-tracked, wasn't in "the mood", and haven't gone back to finishing it yet. Yet.

I am in the mood for a musical when I go to the theater to see one. That's it, really.

I mean, I knew about this episode for awhile, I just didn't have the courage to watch it. I am glad I got it over with though.

Sorry to spoil the party. :(

    The “courage to watch it”?

It’s not like you ran into a burning building or something.

    Geez.

Or maybe some people just don't like musicals and using 'courage to watch it' was the easiest way of conveying what they're talking about.

Do you go out of your way, or does it just come naturally?

I could ask you the same question.

Let’s stop derailing the thread and move on, shall we?

I was just being insecure.

I thought I was missing the point / not getting the joke because it seems like everybody else but me liked this episode. I think I'm over it now tho. :D

I didn't like it, either. Only episode in the franchise I'll never rewatch. But that's only because I don't like musicals. So you're not alone in not liking it.

SFA takes place in the 32nd century, and will use existing DSC production assets to keep costs low.

Tilly is an Academy instructor but not in charge of the entire organization.

If anything, that would be Kovich. :mallory:

    Fair enough.

I still think STA is going to be in the DSC era.

The Starfleet Academy co-showrunner (with Alex Kurtzman) is Noga Landau. Her WGA profile lists her most recent credits as TOM SWIFT and NANCY DREW. Both were CW YA dramas and are available to stream on HBO Max in the US.

Just as 12 MONKEYS gave a good indication of what we might expect from a Terry Matalas-run Star Trek series, these might forecast what direction SFA would take... Someone here should sample them and report back...

I'll wait for the book to come out.

I watched Picard Season 3 without watching any of Matalas' previous works, and I'll do the same here.
