and if they did casting like that, you'd have almost the exact problem people have with Code Of HonorCalling it blackface is exaggerated for the most part. What's ridiculous is that there were plenty of African American actors with the exact skin tones who could have played the same parts, especially when looking at small roles or extras. (Robert O'Reilly's buggy eyes would be difficult to replace )
Honestly, if we’re talking actual scientific antmoshpheric annd environmental applications, most Vulcans (and their Romulan cousins) should theoretically have generally darker-toned skin due to the brightness of the Vulcan sun.
