What are you watching???

series: Strange New Worlds, Secret Invasion, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

movies: Transformers Rise of the Beasts, Shin Godzilla, Godzilla Final Wars

misc: Been watching bad b-movies hosted by Cinema Insomnia and Sleazy P Martini on Twitch and enjoying the chats and commentary since I don't have anyone rignt now with those sensibilities IRL.

Nancy Drew, Miracle Workers season 4 eps 1 & 2, more Clone Wars, and The Witcher season 3 ep 2.

The first two episodes of Miracle Workers came out months ago and then the show disappeared. I'm glad it didn't get "written off" completely like all these other recent shows.

New ep of What We Do In The Shadows today at lunch.

Have to go hunt that down!

watching Alligator on Joe Bob Briggs' Last Drive In on Shudder.

the whole taking potshots jokes at Robert Forster's hairline in the movie is really effin annoying. Who does that really whether its for humor to lighten the mood in a creature feature like Alligator? To me its body shaming.

I dont think Robert Forster's hair was that bad looking at the time anyway

Believe it or not, and it kind of stuns me to even think it, but Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was surprisingly ok... Fun even. Good casting and entertaining screenwriting. It's not high art, but a light fantasy adventure something it does succeed at being.

It's David E Kelly.

Ally Mcbeal, Picket Fences and the Practice.

Not only should it be better, but it's can't be worse.

We’re going to have to agree to disagree. I think it hews closely to the style and content of Kelley’s work on early seasons of the Practice, before that show went off the rails.

Oppenheimer - not the latest Nolan movie, for which I'll have to wait as I can't get to a cinema, but the 1980 BBC drama series starring Sam Waterson.

Have you tried the TV series Manhattan?
Only caught one episode a few years ago - the one with the demon core aka "tickling the dragon's tail". It was good, but I didn't get chance to watch the rest. There's also the movie Fat Man and Little Boy aka Shadow Makers, made in 1989. The books "The Making of the Atomic Bomb" by Richard Rhodes and "American Prometheus" by Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin have very different foci, of course. Both the TV series and movie named Oppenheimer perhaps follow the lead of the latter book in dealing more with how Oppenheimer came under scrutiny after WW2 because of his nemesis Lewis Strauss? I don't know if this is correct, not having seen the movie

ETA: Just checked and only season one of Manhattan is available on Amazon Prime in the UK for £10. I don't know why season two isn't available. I'm not going to commit to watching an incomplete series.
