What are you watching???

Started the third & final season of Jessica Jones on Netflix tonight.

Watching 'AKA You're Welcome', second episode of the season, now.

The final episode of Chernobyl - "Vichnaya Pamyat" - "Eternal Memory". Harrowing to watch but it was an impressive dramatic reconstruction of the events that exposed the fundamental weaknesses of the Soviet system in apocalyptic fashion.

What an excellent series. The final episode was outstanding. At only 5 episodes, it really covered a lot of ground and did that very well. The writing, performances, casting, direction, cinematography, all top notch. Lies, covering lies with a helping dash of stupidity and ignorance ... all the right ingredients for a disaster of epic proportions.

I'll admit it, I saw the simple trailer where you just hear a geiger counter and you see the word Chernobyl appear, and thought "that's going to make for a depressing show". But my partner recorded the series, and boy am I glad she did!

The quotes sum it up, to me it's the best show I've watched this year. If you havent seen it already, WATCH IT!

It should win a lot of awards, and if it doesnt, shame. It could have been longer than 5 episodes, but the five are very powerful. Amazing show!

After I'd watched it all, found that Russia is to make its own version of the events!

As for last night, I stumbled across the first episode of "Xena: Warrior Princess" on 4Music of all channels! I'd forgotten how gorgeous Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor were in this series!:adore::adore:

Presumably, the Russian version will trot out the ridiculous conspiracy theory that the CIA was somehow responsible for the disaster. In reality, it's amazing how many nuclear reactor accidents have come about because the human operators turned off or circumvented various automatic safety measures that would have prevented the accident from happening. Too often it seems that the wrong people were left in control.

Why I don't think the CIA responsible let's just remember that just because the west and more so USA say one thing, it's not a conspiracy theory to question. Russiagate is a conspiracy theory. I'm still called a conspiracy theorist for stating the fact that Mrs. Clinton cheated in 2016 primary.

So I would love to see the Russian side of history.

I'd love to see movies with Russian superheros saving the world.

I've heard of at least one that may fit the bill, but haven't seen it. It's called Guardians and I know it has seen some release outside of Russia (at least on dvd. It may be on Netflix in some countries too, but its'n showing in the UK when I did a quick search)

I'm watching Mile 22 later.

I'll have to go find info on that.

I guess in the movie The Darkest Hour we had Russian heros with the army guys fighting the aliens. I loved that movie, but pity they didn't explore the aliens more.
