What are you watching???

Went out to the AMC Tyler and had Theater 7, the BigD, all to myself while watching The Last Vermeer.

Home now, watching Star Trek: Lower Decks via CBS All Access.

Fun fact:

According to the (never actually published, although there do exist a story outline and the first three chapters) novel Alien Exodus, Richard Dreyfuss' character is the direct ancestor of...

the Skywalker family from SW

Well, that's just about the one of dumbest fucking ideas in the history of ever. Not everything has to do with the Skywalkers!

Binged 5 episodes of The Undoing last night on HBO. Very, very good. Recommended. Yes, it's a limited series, but well worth the watch. Good story and outstanding acting all around.

Shouldn't that be descendent since Star Wars is a long time ago?

I read the story at the link, and I understand now. I'm glad we never got the book, sounds like it wouldn't have been very good.

Tightrope starring Clint Eastwood via HBO Max.

TCM seems to have added quite a few of Eastwood's movies, including a few I haven't seen before.

- edit -

The Gauntlet starring Clint Eastwood via HBO Max.

"Night Creatures" (1962) and "The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh" (1963). Two very different adaptations of the same story, one from Hammer Films, one from Disney.

Having fun comparing and contrasting them.

(See, this is why I never get all the modern whining about remakes. It's both fun and fascinating to compare and contrast different takes on the same material, even when they're only one year apart.)

BBC's Doctor Who 'Rosa', third episode of the eleventh season, via HBO Max.

The Captain Jack tease for the holiday special reminded me that I've fallen behind for this series.

Airline on CBS Reality. Never missed it when it was first on 20 years ago and nice to see they are doing well in particular Katrina Leeder.

BBC's Doctor Who 'Arachnids in the UK', fourth episode of the eleventh season, via HBO Max.

And Chris Noth is the guest star! Loved him on Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent!

BBC's Doctor Who 'The Witchfinders', eighth episode of the eleventh season, via HBO Max.

Alan Cumming guest stars as King James in this one.

BBC's Doctor Who 'It Takes You Away', ninth episode of the eleventh season, via HBO Max.

That one had a great start but a really badly written ending, IMHO.

Eh, it was alright, and the ending wasn't too bad. Though my favorite so far has to be 'Arachnids in the UK', mostly because it had Chris Noth in it.
