What are you watching???

I'm not a fan of the new stuff in this year's American Ninja Warrior. Having it so fastest time in the qualifying skips the city finals and fastest time in the city finals gives you a do-over in stage 1 or 2 of Mt Midoriama.

Crap like this makes the show more like a reality show and less like a sports competition, when they should be moving in the other direction.

Blown Away, a glass blowing competition show on Netflix.
Think "Forged in Fire" with glass.
really? checking that out right now, thanx!
Edit: just finished the first episode, really interesting to see, and some beautiful work there. Nice!
Edit 2: That was fantastic craftmanship on display and a very thrilling final.
wow, i highly enjoyed this show, i felt that something could go wrong at any minute with these big chunks of glass being maneuvered around

Oh how cool I love watching glass blowing. So creative. I'd watch the hell out of that.

It's a good show and the challenges are interesting.

A few of the people are a little full of themselves but this seems to be a standard part of being a self proclaimed "artist". Having worked in a scenery shop for several years with theater people I learned to zone out that BS long ago.

There is a great PBS special about Dale Chihuly that is well worth looking into if you like glass blowing.

Yes! The craftmanship is insane. Especially Janusz, the guy is a madman.
My heart sank every time I heard that tell tale tinkle of glass breaking on the floor.
But damn if they didn't all take it in stride and keep moving. The pragmatic "You got to expect that working with glass" attitude was refreshing to see.

Chicago PD, but I'm tempted to watch From The Earth to The Moon later as it's been too long since I've seen it.

9-1-1 is a random bit of TV I discovered, thought it would be boring but I ended up liking it and now want to see the second season

The Umbrella Academy
