What are you reading?

I have a couple of books on the go:

Voyager
(the third book in the Outlander series)

Henry Reed's Journey (a kids' book in a series I read a long time ago; nostalgia hit me one day and I decided to re-read them all)

Margaret Atwood, The Handmaiden’s Tale
The title is actually The Handmaid's Tale.

Have you seen the TV series at all? The second season starts on April 25 on Hulu, and April 29 on Bravo!.

Raven Strategem, book #2 in the "Machineries of Empire" series, by Yoon Ha Lee. It's a nominee for this year's Hugo Awards - I'm hoping to get through all of the nominees this year before the voting deadline. (I missed it last year.) Fortunately, three of the nominated novels are relatively short by modern standards.

Scourged by Kevin Hearne, the conclusion to the Iron Druid series. Or, "The Triumphant Conclusion to The Iron Druid Chronicles" as it says on the cover.
Another series I've read for a long time is ending, sigh. At least the author didn't die. Reminds me that Jim Butcher hasn't written a Dresden Files novel in ages.

I heard a rumour a month or two ago that he was working on a new one, but I haven't seen any corroboration.

I finished Raven Strategem last night (does anyone have any links to any websites that explain this series? I feel like I'm missing a lot of the world-building background), and started The Collapsing Empire by John Scalzi this morning. I think I'm going to enjoy this, just based on the prologue. (No spoilers. :) )

Gifted Hands. Ben Carson Story.

The true life story of a boy who went from "class dummy" to brilliant pediatric neurosurgeon.

It's so good to get inside a story like this. Given that I have personally been told I am the most ignorant piece of crap that exists, I find it encouraging to read of a real struggle and real success story :)

Working my way through the original 12 Conan books. To follow:
The Jerry Cornelius series (Moorcock)
1984 (Orwell)
Operation Nemesis (The Assassination Plot that Avenged the Armenian Genocide)
Civilisation One
Gentlemen of the Road (Chabon)
After that, some Discworld, I think.

Just finished Only Killers and Thieves by Paul Howarth. A Tarentino-esque Western set in the Australian outback. Didn't find it to be too great.

Moving on to Thrawn by Timothy Zahn.

The boys from brazil by ira levin
Awesome! Ira Levin is one of my favorite authors. And IMO, the best book ever written is his..
This Perfect Day
It will scare the pants off you!

Christ, Marx, Wood and Wei; Led us to This Perfect Day.
Marx, Wood, Wei and Christ; All but Wei were Sacrificed.
Wood, Wei, Christ and Marx; Gave us lovely Schools and Parks.
Wei, Christ, Marx and Wood; Made us Humble, Made us Good.

Rhyme for children to bounce a ball
(Ira Levin, 1968)

Well I don't like my pants anyway so I will look it up ;)

I just finished a fun book called Exploding the Phone. It's about the rise of phone phreaking (hacking) in the 1960s and 70s, until AT&T and everyone else moved to computers.

Now back to a history of Mexico which I am making slow but steady progress on.

The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen
The story of the traitorous aide to a South Vietnamese General evacuated to America after the fall of Saigon.
