Staying indoors to avoid frostbite and hypothermia.
Huzzah! ;-)
Yeah, one of the crazy things about living in my neck of the Midwest is that, during the course of a week, one can go from subzero to above freezing. The old joke 'round here is
"If you don't like the weather...wait five minutes."
As for the OP: waiting patiently for Sunday. I rewatched the first half of the series with my Old Man a couple weeks ago. That's one of the few things we share, interest-wise, and it was a good opportunity for me to see how a guy who watched TOS when it first came out related to the newest series. I'm in my late forties so I grew up on the reruns, TAS, TOS Movies, and, just as I hit adulthood, TNG. We both love Trek but we're both two different types of fans. I'd say he was a Trekkie and I'm certainly a Trekker (the difference, in my head, being the difference between a casual fan and someone who can tell you Bones' daughter's name and when Andor (temporarily) seceded from the Federation) so it was an interesting set of discussions we had over
Discovery.
He's with me on Burnham--I thought it was a bad decision on behalf of the writers to make her a mutineer--and thinks she's completely unsympathetic. He also likes Lorca and was somewhat taken aback when I told him that some segments of fandom think Lorca's some kind of fascist warmonger. That really flabbergasted him. He says Lorca, at times, reminds him of a slightly colder, more Machiavellian Kirk. And, for whatever reason, he likes Saru, too. So, between the two of us, we largely agree on the show, which tells me it can't be all that bad if you can get him and I to agree on that (he was never a fan of most of TNG or Voyager, liked a lot of DS9 and loathed
Enterprise, so...)!
