What have you been doing to prepare for the second half of Discovery Season 1? I'll probably re-watch the last episode and might do these exercises in this training video from the rocky movies to help get pumped up for it:

I watched Magic last night and tonight might be the final two episodes. Then Sunday it will be the new episode. Hopefully CBS doesn’t screw up the stream like they did with Leathe.

I did a full rewatch. Now I'm just relaxing and eagerly awaiting 8:30 EST on Sunday.

I also have been looking at the preview material etc!!

Absolutely nothing, I had forgotten the series even existed till I saw an announcement on CBS while watching SEAL.

Staying off the internet between the US airing and when it is available here (Monday evening)

Lucky I'm at work that day.

I've already come across one big spoiler in a Frakes interview, which I'm really annoyed about.

I rewatched the time loop episode a week ago. I’ll probably rewatch the finale tonight or tomorrow.

    Huzzah! ;-)

Yeah, one of the crazy things about living in my neck of the Midwest is that, during the course of a week, one can go from subzero to above freezing. The old joke 'round here is "If you don't like the weather...wait five minutes."

As for the OP: waiting patiently for Sunday. I rewatched the first half of the series with my Old Man a couple weeks ago. That's one of the few things we share, interest-wise, and it was a good opportunity for me to see how a guy who watched TOS when it first came out related to the newest series. I'm in my late forties so I grew up on the reruns, TAS, TOS Movies, and, just as I hit adulthood, TNG. We both love Trek but we're both two different types of fans. I'd say he was a Trekkie and I'm certainly a Trekker (the difference, in my head, being the difference between a casual fan and someone who can tell you Bones' daughter's name and when Andor (temporarily) seceded from the Federation) so it was an interesting set of discussions we had over Discovery.

He's with me on Burnham--I thought it was a bad decision on behalf of the writers to make her a mutineer--and thinks she's completely unsympathetic. He also likes Lorca and was somewhat taken aback when I told him that some segments of fandom think Lorca's some kind of fascist warmonger. That really flabbergasted him. He says Lorca, at times, reminds him of a slightly colder, more Machiavellian Kirk. And, for whatever reason, he likes Saru, too. So, between the two of us, we largely agree on the show, which tells me it can't be all that bad if you can get him and I to agree on that (he was never a fan of most of TNG or Voyager, liked a lot of DS9 and loathed Enterprise, so...)!

The sad thing is I don't feel any need to prepare for the show returning, as I found I didn't really miss it.

I hope the show eventually makes it's mark and impact on me, as TNG, VOY, DS9 and even ENT did. I don't have any affection for the characters, the plot-line does not grab me, and if the Discovery were to be blown up - I would not feel shock or feel sad for the loss.

I find the concept a little strange anyway. Turn on the TV, watch the show, that's it !

I rarely, if ever, watch anything again, even when I buy the Blurays...

If there's a long gap between seasons, I will occasionally rewatch a season finale to refresh my memory before the new season premieres. "Where did we leave off again?"

But DISCOVERY has only been gone for a month or so, so . . . .
