It's Star Trek: that doesn't really mean much.

I do that when people say something so ridiculously wrong with such conviction as you did, especially in situations were a 30 second google search could have told them better. So don't do that, and I won't call you that.

Alrighty, folks, the time for letting the unnecessarily personal tangent play out is up.

Sisko made a promise to Kasidy in "What You Leave Behind".

I want to see that promise kept, or at least have some concrete reassurance of it having been kept. And whether Prof. Brooks is directly involved or not, I want it done in a way that he considers respectful and kind.

I think books would be the best way to do so under those parameters.

Good thing they've been doing that since 2001. The entire DS9 post-show novel series is available, with the very last part coming on the 30th.

I would rather find out what happened post DS9 in Picard, Lower Decks, or Prodigy.

As much as I would be excited if they announced a miniseries or full series, DS9 was a product of its time, and it just wouldn't be the same.

If they hire Alexander Siddig and do a Section 31 series akin to the novels, I'd watch it.

Didn't they say they toyed with the idea of mentioning the Dominion War in either Picard or LDS, but decided against it?

Given that was a massive war, that in real life would have been HUGE news years and even decades later...but they don't want to mention it on the new shows, I doubt we'll get any kind of DS9 post-series info either.

Soji: “So where were you during the Dominion War”

Picard: “Oh, hosting diplomatic function, saving the Ba’ku, hosting Worf on the Enterprise whenever he was on vacation from DS9, that sort of thing.”

Seven: “On Voyager in the Delta Quadrant. Had Voyager ever encountered the Dominion, between Janeway and the Borg, they would not have stood a chance.”

I don't think there will be a Kurtzman Era DS9 series only because while they might recognize there are DS9 Fans who want it, they'd only want it if Ira Steven Behr were brought back. He's as much of a star of the show as the actual cast.

Sorry if I am repeating myself but DS9 shouldn't be touched unless it's a short Trek.
Nothing that involves anything big that messes with the history of the show just something simple like Bashir, Garak and Kira meeting at Molly O'Brien's wedding or Jakes book launch or something.

I don't think a full series would work without Sisko. And I doubt Avery Brooks would return, nor do I want him re-cast. Unless they do it animated, then I could get behind that. It wouldn't be THAT hard to find a voice actor for Sisko (nobody @ me for saying that).

Having a character or two show up in another series would be very welcome for me too.

I think they're pretty low. I think if there were characters that they could follow up on, Worf and Kira would probably be at the top of the list for me.

Other than Worf and Sisko, who is the most recognizable character from DS9?

Is there anyone that casual fans would see and be like, "Oh I remember them?"

    Quark maybe?
