The 90's, culturally anyway, will probably be known for "grunge."
More likely for hip hop, I think.
It makes perfect sense to me. I especially found that in the music sense: the early 90s were the 80s hangover of pop, techno and Madchester pop with a small peak in ragga, with guitar music as Grunge start a loyal following; the middle 90s saw guitar bands dominate as Britpop and alternative rock, with modern house lurk in the background; the late 90s saw the return of pop, RnB, and hip hop begin to dominate over guitar music and "BritPop", while dance music grew up as modern house, big beat and trance. At least that's how it was for me.1990 -1993 still felt like the late 80s to me, 1994-1996 felt like the 90s, 1997-1999 felt like the 2000's...
yeah I know that probably doesnt make any sense...
How can anybody not like bellbottoms? No kidding! Despite RJ and Hoser's contrary opinions. Not to mention, nobody who lived through the 70s thinks that the styles were cool.![]()

Nah, hip hop was already big in the 80's...
But then the sub-set of Gangsta rap got more of the spotlight in the 90's...
00s: iPods. George W. Bush. Xbox. Long, shaggy hair. Facebook. Prequels and remakes in popular media franchaises.
00s: Mostly for what ended on TV, 9/11, the Bush Wars, A super power in denial of ending, and the election of Obama.
The blow jobs of the 90s were superior to the blow jobs of any other decade? Why would the 90s be especially known for blowjobs? Or are you getting personal here...?The 90's: Nirvana, blow jobs, emergence of the Internet--
The 90's: blow jobs
We're in transition. I wouldn't say we're in the 2010s yet. We've still got elements of the 00s happening, though those elements are disappearing.00s: iPods. George W. Bush. Xbox. Long, shaggy hair. Facebook. Prequels and remakes in popular media franchaises.
That would be my answer as well. Plus this:
00s: Mostly for what ended on TV, 9/11, the Bush Wars, A super power in denial of ending, and the election of Obama.
I think we're unofficially in the '10s now. 2008 will probably seen as the last real '00s-feeling year and the problems we have right now won't magically disappear overnight.

It's sad, but as styles of the 70s start coming back, I feel happier. No kidding! Despite RJ and Hoser's contrary opinions.

If the 2000's end up being known for Coldplay then I'm just going to pretend they didn't happen.
