So they have done the Klingons plenty in Star Trek and to a large degree in Discovery. What aliens would you like to see as adversaries in season 2? Or even just showing up for a few episodes in some role.

For myself the Tholians since they are largely unexplored. We know they were around during this time frame.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Breen come back too since they are another cool species largely unexplored.
Discovery likes to do call backs to 'Enterprise' so I'd be interested in seeing the Suliban and what they've been up to these past 100 years.

I voted Denobulans & Tholians & Other but there's a lot I'd like to see/ see more of.

Vulcans, Andorians, Tellarites, obviously and other Federation races, maybe some we have NOT seen before.
There's probably a lot of aliens from Enterprise that we could check back in on too, the Xindi and the Suliban specifically. Generally I'd like to stay with these sorts of aliens, ones we've seen already in the timeline in previous shows. I'm super curious what a re-designed Borg would look like but having them just breaks canon in an intolerable way, I don't want them used at all. But if there's ever concept art for that I really hope we get to see it.

In general:

1. Any alien race that Enterprise first introduced is A-OK with me.
2. I actually hope that races which are known mainly from the TNG era are avoided. Introducing the Ferengi in ENT did nothing, although I still feel like the way the Borg were used was fairly clever as those things go.
3. Races which we semi-canonically know were not seen face-to-face until Kirk's era (like the Romulans) should never be seen, at least by the Discovery crew.

I would really, really love to see some of the TAS and novelverse aliens. Specifically the Nassat who should be around this time, or my all time favorite, the Choblik. I would love to see any of the crazy aliens that are on the Titan. These are super alien-y aliens rather than random foreheaded aliens, which would be nice.

I voted for the Suliban, Xindi, and Gorn. I'd just like to see some new makeup for a Gorn getup. I'd like to know what happened to the Xindi and the Suliban post ENT, since the novelverse kinda touches that the Suliban had a rough time after all that. As far as background aliens go, I'd like to see some more recognizable species like Trill (great to see one in the finale!), Bolians, Efrosians, Denobulans, or any of the other nameless aliens we've seen over the years. The novels have added a lot of ENT era aliens into their stories and that has really made the Star Trek universe feel like one big, continuous thing.

I voted for The Borg and The Q

My top 3:
1. Denobulans

They are an early human ally, they should be seen more often. Hell, maybe there even is a reason they are no Federation members in later series? (Though don't make them enemies - just estranged allies)

2. Xindi
I still love Enterprise 3rd season. Would be nice to see a little follow-up. Doesn't have to be a big thing. But maybe a Xindi Reptilian as a crewmember? Xindi's as alliance to do negotiating with? There should be Xindi serving on Federation ships in the future after all.

3. Suliban
I think the Suliban make-up is simply artisticly fantastic. Perfectly evokes the color-themed aliens of TOS, but at the same time has enough detail and texture for a 21st century show. Also, the temporal cold war arc has some potential left, and since it's about time travel anyway, it can appear in literally any Trek era. Though please more pre-planning if used.

Options I would have voted if I had more than 3 options:
Edosian - Could be interesting to see in live action
Tholian - very alien aliens, would like to explore them a little bit more
Kzinti - just introduce them to the Trek 'verse already!
Silent enemy aliens - walking slugs, looking cool, plotline still open ended - could be interesting
Gorn - LOVE them, but there are canon issues - Lorca's Gorn sceleton so far is a continuity error (like his Tribble), show should be more careful here!
Bolian - Why not?

No, please NO!
Borg - just, nooooo!!!!
Q - Maybe as a little gag, but overall, no
Romulans - Oh HELL naw! Don't do that! Especially since you already used the exact same backstory for your stupid mullrat klingons in season 1!

No opinion:
Breen - don't care
Pakled - ugly and stupid, would like to see them, but don't believe they can pull them off in a modern day tv-show
Sphere builder - too obscure, no reason to care
Changeling - Only if it's a single one, but not really interested

ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY:
NEW major races: Be fuckin' creative! Stop using the same old same old aliens, invent someting that's both intriguing, unexpected, and not already done to death!

Overall: Great compilation, nice question! Very well done OP! :techman:

I know they were heavily featured in DS9, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Cardassians popping up. There's nothing canonically holding them back from appearing in a 23rd Century-era show. Maybe the Nausicaans, but mostly because I want to see how the would "re-imagine" the makeup. But really, I'd like to see some new aliens.

Romulans are cool, but would be a bugger to fit in. But I'm open to it.

Xindi, absolutely, because they should still be relatively recent memory.

Tholians - given their involvement in the Enterprise MU epsiodes, which are the foundation for the Discovery MU episodes, it'd make sense for a follow-up.

Wasn't first contact with the Cardassians in the 24th century?
There was an exiled Cardassian on Vulcan in either the 22nd or 23rd Century.

Though that doesn't mean there was any formal contact between the governments.
