1) I Dream of Jennie Earth, on that tropical island from the opening credits, circa 1 week before Major Nelson crashes. This should be self-explanatory.

2)Power Rangers Earth Circa Season 1
I know where most of the MacGuffins are and unlike the native villains I lack kids show enforced naivete. Zordon would be dead and I'd be running the planet within a week.

3)The planet from Charlie X. Unlike Charlie, I'm not a spoiled child. Conquering the Federation would be each for someone with subtlety an dhis level of psionic ability.

Fun thread! :)

First, I should say that all my preferred worlds are somewhat cold ones, because I overheat really easily, and I can't bear the thought of anything even remotely approaching tropical....

1. Minbar, from Babylon Five, because I've always thought I'd like it there. I'd be more comfortable among Minbari than humans, I think...Plus the soothing colours and impressive architecture. And it's peaceful, in a contemplative, meditative sort of way (I can't stand noise, either). And a very old native culture- lots to learn, lots to immerse myself in. Technologically advanced- comfortable living- yet not ugly and urbanized. And beautiful crystal formations and ice fields.

2. Andoria, from Trek. It probably has great energy in a way that isn't too noisy (an enjoyable chaos like Qo'noS only without the shouting, much more restrained and polite, and more hospitable to outsiders- friendly, yet with that edge that makes relationships fascinating. And the native culture seems to hold loyalty and bonds between friends and colleagues and family very highly, which would make me comfortable. Highly emotional too, like me. I'd also love the sight of the gas giant hanging in the sky- that would be a marvellous view. Also, beautiful ice fields.

3. Any well established border trade outpost with lots of traffic, preferrably non-aligned but with a local set of benevolent-minded overseers and general rules - no controlling central authority, no restrictive social "norm",yet enough oversight to keep it civilized. A frontier region- lots of interesting, unique individuals, muliple cultures- endless opportunities to learn, to explore, to meet with others of all descriptions. Ice fields optional. I can't think of anywhere fitting the bill, but if anyone else can, let me know. ;)

Bajor, Coruscant, or Vulcan. I left Earth out because if I crashed on Earth what was the point? I'm home anyway.

Re: What 1-3 planets from scifi would you most want to safely crash on

Whatever planet those green Orion women come from.
23rd-24th C Earth, just to see what they've done with the place and to figure out once and for all, where the heck is Starfleet HQ anyway?
San Francisco. Hell, I thought everybody knew that!

I live in San Francisco! :rommie: I mean where in San Francisco. Damn Starfleet HQ and the Academy move all over the frakken place and it drives me crazy.

Plus, I have the suspicion it's not in San Francisco at all, but across the GG Bridge in Marin County, at what is now the site of Fort Baker. The Academy appears to be within SF city limits, on the Presidio, roughly on the current site of LucasFilm's offices. I hope they have fun bulldozing that.

Re: What 1-3 planets from scifi would you most want to safely crash on

Yeah, Enterprise made pretty clear that Starfleet Command is in Fort Baker.

Tatooine sounds promising.

Re: What 1-3 planets from scifi would you most want to safely crash on

Naboo - for the scenery, both female and otherwise. :D

Middle Earth (does that count?) - "I am the Red Wizard Comedialf. And this is my BOOM stick!"

Re: What 1-3 planets from scifi would you most want to safely crash on

The planet from Shore Leave, Barsoom, and for my stretching-the-rules pick I'll take the Ringworld. :D

Re: What 1-3 planets from scifi would you most want to safely crash on

IMHO, anyone who doesn't include Naboo is just nutters. One of the best things to come out of the PT.

Re: What 1-3 planets from scifi would you most want to safely crash on

1) Arrakis: because it would be a MAJOR challenge, and melange not only gives you longer life, but the Fremen regularly get together and have orgies!

2) Pern: my bronze dragon's named Lornth

3) "Shore Leave" planet: you can have any world you want--A world you WANT to crash-land on.

Re: What 1-3 planets from scifi would you most want to safely crash on

Amazonia (Futurama) for death by Snu-Snu.

Barcelona (Doctor Who), they've got dogs with no noses!

And, lastly, 24th Century Earth (Star Trek).

How do the dogs smell on Barcelona?

Re: What 1-3 planets from scifi would you most want to safely crash on

Not too original here:

24th C. Earth (Trek)
Minbar
Risa
