Spoilers What’s in the nebula?

Given that the signal will be a big reveal is there any ship outside of Discovery that it could be for a wow factor.

I can't see this show go any other way than to have it be linked to Discoverys past

Or Burnham in an Angel Suit, humming real loud in order to remain sane while floating there and waiting for a supernova to charge her up again.

While the nebulae of DSC are as unrealistic as in all other Trek, at least they are more varied visually than the usual fare. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one up close. Even if it ends up being a rerun of the "Calypso" one.

It’s either going to be the Discovery or an Enterprise.

It'll be the Enterprise-D, with Picard and Data playing poker. The episode ends with Picard waking up at his vineyard, realizing Season 3 was a bad dream. And Bobby Ewing will be in the sonic shower.

But seriously, it'll be the copy of Discovery from Calypso. The writers aren't that creative.

In the beginning of "Calypso", wasn't there music playing when the opening shot is showing Discovery, something the computer was playing?

Have to go back and look.

I wonder it it will be Discovery, one that can be taken back to Starfleet and examined for use of that spore drive, enabling it to be copied and adapted for starships, while 1031-A is in active service.

But if it were this universe's Discovery from a past version, how can that one and the current one exist in the same universe and same timeline?

You're quick. I was wondering how long it would take before someone said that.

Someone needs to clue me in on Coffee?

I'm intrigued by the copy of disco theory. Doesn't that make 2 copies of the sphere data? How did disco get copied?

There's an episode of Voyager, I can't remember which one, where Janeway says, "I bet there's coffee in that nebula!" It became a running gag online for a while, when VOY was on, to the point where someone created a long-defunct bulletin board called The Coffee Nebula.

I think it may be the USS Discovery in the nebula (from Calypso) with fully sentient Zora.
It could also be the USS Defiant (the one that ended up in the 22nd century in the MU - perhaps it ended up back here with Terrans who wanted to get more technology or something and ended up causing the Burn).

Might be the USS Enterprise of 32nd century.

A Federation distress signal though could be faked (Seska did it to lure Voyager into an ambush)... though the ambiguity of the signal etc.

I would assume that by the 32nd century, the Enterprise would be up to the letter M, since the new Reliant (a contemporary to the original Enterprise 1701) has a registry of NCC-1864-M.

But I highly doubt it’s the Enterprise. It’s going to be the Discovery.

Wait, where did we see the Reliant?

Wait, where did we see the Reliant?

The ship that Owo asks about being a ‘new’ Constitution has NCC-1864-M as its registry. Its name cannot be made out. So either that ship is the U.S.S. Constitution NCC-1864-M (which makes no sense), or the ship is the newest version of the Reliant.

I don't think we'll see the 32nd Century Enterprise in Discovery yet, because that would strip (speculation only) the Enterprise-F of having "the latest and greatest!" status if (again speculation only) we see it in Picard.

After they've gotten the Enterprise-F out of their system over there, then all bets are off over here.
