Anyone want to take a guess? What ship is in the nebula? Who’s broadcasting the signal and how did it start the burn?

I’ll be honest, I’m leaning toward Prime Lorca with an alternate version of Discovery (possibly Calypso version).

Zora - on Calypso Discovery - has been transmitting that signal for just shy of 1000 years. Somehow when they jumped forward another version of discovery was split off.

Actually I have no idea....just fun to speculate.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that when Discovery entered the 32nd century, it created a space-time rift and the ship and its crew were duplicated as a result of the rift, a la Voyager in "Deadlock," and the duplicate Discovery is inside the nebula sending the distress signal. This would likely mean that Discovery is the cause of The Burn, which I don't want to happen, so hopefully I'm way off.

I'll bite. How do you think Discovery caused the burn? Trying to get out of the Nebula? Time travel?

If there are two discoveries in universe that means 2 spore drives.

OK another theory. Two spore drives jumping to the same destination at the same time causes the burn
