Were there any "new to you" episodes? Explanation inside...

So I thought I had seen every episode of TNG dozens of times over. But about 6 or 7 years ago while binge watching some TNG, I actually discovered there were 3 episodes I hadn't seen, "Firstborn", "Suspicions" and "Rightful Heir". I have no idea how I hadn't seen those episodes but I was certain I had not. Especially "Suspicions". I am so familiar with every episode, and it was actually a little surreal watching these episodes because to me, it was "NEW" Trek!

Also, I just recently watched "Sub Rosa", I had always ignored it because I knew the premise and knew it was pretty well hated. But I finally decided to give it a go. It was... interesting, but I didn't hate it.

I didn't hate Sub Rosa either, and never really understood the hate.

At one point, I know I've experienced the same thing you have, where I watched an episode that I had never seen before. However, I really can't remember which one it was, as it has been so many years ago. I still on occasion watch the beginning of an episode and don't totally remember which one it is for a little while. Those are usually the episodes I've watched the least, though.

There was only one episode of TNG I hadn't seen in first-run...and it was the one with the siblings who were crying about warp drive ruining the fabric of space. Or something.

There was only one episode of TNG I didn't see during it's first run on UK decided because the BBC pulled it due to recent terrorist incidents at the time it was scheduled to air"The High Ground"

So far I never watched The Naked Now. I don't remember why I skipped it, but I did. So that will be a whole new episode to me the day I finally see it XD

Original airing of Voyager I quit the show for a few weeks in season 3 so didn't catch Darkling, Warlord and Rise till much later.

Didn't miss much.

Closest I've got is seeing "Conspiracy" uncut for the first time on DVD.

It was quite a "What the fuck am I watching??" moment. I knew the head exploded from "Shades of Grey" and a UK Annual describing the effects involved, but the alien puppet appearing afterwards was new to me, and totally hilariously insane.

When did they show the cut version of this? I don't recall ever seeing a cut version.

The only episode I hadn't watched until I bought my TNG DVD box 2012 was "The Game".
I don't know how I managed to miss that one during all the years of reruns on different channels where I live but I did know for a log time that I hadn't watched it.
In 2012 when I bought the box, I finally watched it and it was a pleasant surprise. Very good episode!

I recently watched the entire run of Voyager. I quit on the series around season two and only came back briefly when they introduced Seven Of Nine but quickly got bored and abandoned the series again. Thus, there were many, many episodes I had never seen. It was interesting but I don't think I never need to see most of them ever again.

I've still never seen most of the DS9 run and I quit on Enterprise during season one I think

I wonder, for how long must an episode be "unwatched" for it to become (almost) new again.

TNG is my favorite series but still there are many episodes that I haven't watched in close to ten years or more...

Many years ago Face of the Enemy felt new to me. I wish I remember seeing it first run but I didn’t.

For some reason, after multiple (and I thought complete) watchings of TNG I discovered two episodes I never had seen before, Violations and Dark Page.

Can't say I'm too sorry about that though, as it turned out I don't particularly like either of both episodes.

I still haven't watched the last two episodes of Discovery. Saw all of TNG, first run. The rest were a mix between first run, syndication and home video.

BBC America had TNG reruns in heavy rotation for years, but they didn't go S1-S7, in order a lot of the time. They jumped around a lot, so even with that it's possible to have missed an episode.

Now DS9 or Voyager? Those haven't gotten a lot of rerun time as far as I know. Spike had DS9 for a short time in the mid-2000's(?), but not several episodes a day like BBCA & TNG.
