Were Culber and Stamets married?

(Today, sometimes) You're de facto married if you live together for x number of years. X being a variable depending on where in the world you live.

I see mention on google of 2 years or 7 years, or that years aren't an unconditional qualifier for common law marriage... But lets assume that the Federation is far less puritanical than current day America...

Does the 7 month time jump (near the end of season one) that Discovery had count towards the (lets say) 2 year quota to be considered De facto married?

We don't know how long these two lads have been living together, but by season 3, if one of them hadn't already died, sad, and maybe resurrects, they would definitely be common law married, unless the De facto timer resets at death, and they gotta start over from the beginning.

All the more reason to get a different doctor. Stamets being treated by his husband would be very unprofessional of Culber, if there was another option. You don't 'doctor' to your family. Source: family of doctor.
And that's valid enough. But it doesn't negate my point - if anything, it enhances it, because it seems like *that* would have been an argument that Lorca would have tried to use to remove Culber from being responsible for Stamets' care, if they had been married.

I don't recall any line that specifically mentioned that they were married. I guess I just assumed they were, because they got to share quarters (I wouldn't expect Starfleet to allow non-married couples to live together).

Has this been confirmed one way or the other?
I always assumed they were married but why wouldn't Starfleet let unmarried couples room togeather??
