Anyone got their tickets yet?

Tickets went on sale this week. I've just booked mine for 11.45AM on Thursday 7th in London (yeah, I know - a full day ahead of the release date :techman: but there it is). Anyone else booked yet?

I'm not in any great hurry, no. I mean, I'm looking forward to this film as much as anyone, but I don't see the need to buy tickets two months in advance. (Only thing I'd do that for is airline tickets, Broadway shows, and NY baseball. ) Is there any particular reason why you did so?

I was planning on being in London that week but have to head home Friday morning so was gonna catch it in Belfast Friday evening. Don't have to rush now! And the cinema it's showing in is fantastic!!

Re: Anyone got their tickets yet?

I will be in New York City when this film comes out, but I doubt I'll see it then. I'm not in *that* much of a hurry. :p

Re: Anyone got their tickets yet?

I would LOVE to see this film now!, but I don't intend to buy my ticket in advance, beside's unless there are ''Dark Knight'' crowds for this movie( I doubt there will be) I wont be haveing any problems seeing it opening day!

Re: Anyone got their tickets yet?

GAH! No!

I don't buy tickets for movies more than about 3 hours in advance, and then only at gunpoint. If I can't walk up to the ticket counter 1/2 hour before the show and get a ticket, it's too damn crowded and I'll pass for a few days.

It's not like this is a Bruce Springsteen concert or something. :p

I'll be at the 8.45pm showing on the 7th at the Empire, already booked.

Can't imagine seeing the film at 11.45 in the morning. The real buzz will be at the 8pm showing surely?

But whatever, nice of them to put the tickets on sale this early eh? :bolian:

Re: Anyone got their tickets yet?

Well its not gonna be like trying to see LOTR any day in its first week, where even after 3 days showing the lines stretched out of the cinema.

I'll just skip day 1 and see it saturday or sunday. No pre-bought tickets.

Re: Anyone got their tickets yet?

Starbase 11 only has one shitty movie theater and they've been showing the same movie ("Good Burger") for 12 years now.

No word on whether "Star Trek" will be shown at all. :(

Re: Anyone got their tickets yet?

These days I seldom feel the need to see a movie when it first comes out. The crowds are just too difficult to deal with. Might just wait until the following weekend, when some of the intensity has died down. Perhaps even longer if need be. Of course, I'll have to skip reading this forum because of spoilers galore. ;)

^:guffaw::eek: OH! your putting us on, ther is no way they could show (''Good Burger'') for 12 years and ''still'' be in business!:guffaw:

That's why at the end of this month I'm going to stop going here, so I don't read any spoilers!:vulcan:

Re: Anyone got their tickets yet?

I'm going to be on vacation in Arizona the day Trek comes out. I might try to catch an afternoon showing in Phoenix, or I may just wait until I get back home in West Virginia on Saturday night. At this point my plans are just too fluid to justify booking a ticket, even if they were available for Phoenix or Morgantown this early.

okay...care to give us newbies a clue on the inside joke? ;)

And I have to say that this film will be one of the few, if not the only, movies that will get me back into the theater again. This one, I cannot simply wait for the Blu-Ray like I do for all others.

I probably won't get my tickets until maybe a week to a few days early. I doubt it's gonna be sold out.

The last movie I bought tickets early and online was Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and found out didn't even really need to. So if Star Wars didn't get sold out, I doubt this movie well :) It would be nice, though.

Re: Anyone got their tickets yet?

Merging two threads on same topic. Stand by...

I'm camping out online to get a goddamn Gold Class ticket once they're available. If it's a good movie, I won't have minded spending so much and it'll be a special occasion I'll always remember. If it's a bad movie, I'll need the alcohol.

I'm attending with a large group of co-workers, we're planning on the midnight showing on day one so we'll probably buy tickets a few days in advance to avoid waiting in the ticket line that night. (Look for a group of sombreros at a portland theater near you!)
