SPIKE TV has deep-sixed ST: Deep Space 9. The last episode was Honor Among Thieves last Tuesday night. Now they just carry ST: Voyager and various motorcycle wrecks, late night titty expositions, and killings in the octagon.

Perhaps (w/a little coaxing) SCIFI network might pick up DS9 (uncut hopefully)and give DS9 its rightful home.

Here's to DS9 staying on the small screen.

@#$%! it!

I was just getting back in the mood for Spike too.

I'll fire off an email later this afternoon.

Good luck. I had to call their number b/c their feedback didn't work correctly (typical). But my phone message wasn't pleasant.

TV stations always do that eventually. No station is gonna air DS9, or any other show, forever. After they over-saturate Voyager for some years (maybe even sooner), eventually they would completely stop airing Voyager too. Sucks for those who watch DS9 on Spike though.

The bright side is that this may encourage some DS9 viewers to seek out alternative sources of watching DS9. Which may lead to them experiencing many awesome scenes that are new to them since they never aired on Spike, since Spike butchered them out of it's version in order to cram more commercials in.

Having DS9 on TV reminds people it exists and makes them more likely to check it out. I would say having DS9 on TV is a very good thing, and loosing spike is a major hit to DS9 fandom.

Well, this is too bad, but not entirely unexpected.

Spike is a crappy channel - I wish the Trek shows had been secured by the Scifi Channel, which would have been better.

Virgin 1 has be airing re-runs everyday for weeks, they've shown from episode 1 all the way up to season 4 which it is at right now, by next week we'll be in season 5.

For those of us with the DVDs, life will go on. However, this will make it harder to attract new fans. We can hope that Sci-Fi or some other cable network like G4 picks up DS9 and gives it the respect it deserves. Spike tended to air DS9 only late at night irregularly, or very early in the morning. It only was aired in the evening or afternoon a little. TNG got lots of evening and afternoon airings over the years. VOY was jipped some by mostly getting afternoon or late night coverage, but this is nothing compared to the 3rd rate treatment DS9 received. I hope this situation is remedied. I also hope that fandom eventually supports a relaunch of a series like DS9 set a few years in the future.

Are you serious??? That sucks!! I even TiVoed that episode, but only got half of it.
Me too!! I also got the back half of Voyager's "Threshold", so overall, it was a pretty dissapointing experience.

New fans? Have any Trek show been attracting new fans in great numbers recently ?

The Spike run went on long enough and the network stopped caring about the show a long time ago.

Didn't they pay Paramount a big chunk of cash for the three Trek properties?

I wonder if they got their money's worth?

Where does this info come from?

SPIKE has yanked DS9 for weeks at a time in the past, but then began airing them again, picking up where they left off.

Before we go ballistic here, let's make sure you have the facts straight.

WHERE did you hear the show won't be back on SPIKE?

I guess one can always upload episodes, buy DVDs etc. One has to wonder however what's going to be shown in its place. I wouldn't be surprised if it was some trash to do with celebrities (eg. "Celebrities go to the toilet"), which dmonstrate the decline in the standards of TV!
