Well, I'll say this for Orci...

^Gwah!? $8.50?

Thats £4.25 in our money, our cinemas charge at least £5 ($10). :wtf:
During matinee times here (usually before 6 PM) you can get a ticket for around $5. There are even some cheapie theaters where you can get in for $2.50 or so. Things are more expensive in the UK, in general. What a thing costs you there in pounds, it'll probably cost about the same in dollars, even though your money is "worth more".

Just sayin', if you do go see it, you're seeing it for less money than quite a few of us lol.

Yeah -- but is that £5 the price for a ticket in London, or is that the going rate across the U.K.?

I live in Pennsylvania and I pay $8.50, which is about the same for most of the United States. However, in New York City a movie ticket costs $10 or even $12 -- and I think the same goes for Los Angeles and San Francisco.

I'm a looong way from London in another part of the UK lol. And yes its a flat rate for the UK. I don't think I've seen cheaper and I've been to cinemas in several parts of the UK over the last three years.

Oh man, £5 is a good deal... the flat rate here, in Essex, is £7.50 (ish), slightly lower during the day, I'd imagine London will be more in the region of eight or nine quid. Yup, we get screwed...

Mr. Orci gave me some examples from past Treks which give some precedence( I don't know if I spelled that right) for what is happening with this movie.
Here is his exact post to me:

Did you see the TNG episode "Yesterday's Enterprise?" Or Star Trek iV? Was Tasha coming back to life, or the theft of whales a canon violation?

And he's got a point. I can think of several other episodes in the Trek canon where the timeline is altered in some way.
I'm not entirely convinced to part with $8.50, but I will say that I'm a little less hellbent against this movie. I'll need to hear more about it.

I sent him a reply asking if we'll get an explanation on why the Enterprise looks different. I wasn't looking for spoilers, just a simple yes or no question.

$8.50 is what I paid for to see Hellboy II and The Dark Knight during the non-matinee showings.

$8.50? Dude, it's $10 here in Jersey. What state are you in?

I paid £6.75 each for my and my girlfriend to see Quantum of Solace the other night -£13.50 in total ($20.26 in US dollars). It cost £5 for the damn pick n mix! I told her to stay away from the fudge. Too heavy.

Seats were comfy though.

You don't have half-priced Tuesdays?

Or booklets of "Hot Cash" or "Movie Money", ten coupons bought in advance, which save about $5 per movie?

I haven't paid full price for a movie in decades, unless it's been promoted as a special event, such as the recent rush of 3D films. Or an IMAX.

It may explain why theater tickets go for a bit less, but I think "everything" is an exaggeration. It's also even further off-topic than the price of theater tickets.

I usually get stoned and then poke a hole in the bottom of my popcorn bucket and place it on my lap.

Out of curiousity, and at your discretion of course, any further updates on this conversation--especially regarding this question?
