Alright! it is my birthday today- I am 19! last year of being a teenager, I better enjoy it.

Hope you had a happy b'day, mccoy86

[old man]I remember when I was just turning 19, WAY BACK WHEN!![/old man] :D

Good to see the bar & grill return. I would've gone looking for it, but I wondered if I & only 1 or 2 others were really keeping it alive. Thanks tomalak301 & BigFoot for keeping the dream of Niner loungin alive!

Congrats on the job too! Oughta help you pay for some gas in that spankin new car of yours ;) Are gas prices reaching crazy new highs around the world like they are in the US? I can't believe how bad it is now :wtf: Then again, I heard gas prices were pretty high around the world in the past, so maybe the US is just catching up. Oh, the pain :(

I'm interested, but I may not buy Sin City real soon. I hear there'll be an extended verion coming out that separates and adds detail to each story. I could actually be up for both versions though. That would be a first - me buying both the regular & extended DVDs (I'm still holding out on First Contact SE cause I already have the original, on VHS tho ;))

Man, am I getting long winded or what!??!? Must be my old age

Thanks man. :) Yeah, having an income is definately gonna be very useful. And yeah, gas here has always been a lot higher then in the US (though still cheaper then in some of the other European countries (like Germany, Austria, Italy). At the moment it's about $1.15 per liter ($4.40 per gallon). Luckily my car doesn't use that much cas, but OTOH most cast in Europe don't use much gas anyway. :)

Yeah, I decided I wanted both versions of Sin City on DVD cos sometimes I might just feel like watching a two hour movie, instead of a... three or so hour movie (or three seperate stories).

Nah, it's just the fact that you've missed this place. :D

$4.40 per gallon!?!??!?!? (thanks, btw, for making the conversion ;)) Woah, I have nothing to complain about! It just reached $2.70 in my area, and that's for the best grade (though it is $3 in California). I know the cars around Europe have been much more fuel-efficient though. Maybe the US will slowly go that way. Didn't happen the last time we had a "major" gas hike though (1970s I think). We just love our big gas-guzzlers too much! I won't be surprised to see more mini-Coopers & the like popping up soon. Car companies can't keep hybrids in stock now.

Kevs,

2.70 is cheap now compared to what it is here in the Bay Area. I have a feeling regular will go over $3.00 in about 2 weeks. It kinda sucks, but I don't drive and don't plan to get a liscense anytime soon because of it. I need more money first.

^I too see $3 becoming more standard around the US. It may be for the premium grade in my area (sweet home Alabama), but it's our imminent future. And unfortunately, my car takes only premium (91+ octane). Nissan Maxima, I love it, but man :( And where I live, public transportation would be laughable if it weren't so sad (I think they're on the verge of bankruptcy). Might be time to trade in the Max for some compact fuel/electric hybrid! Or maybe I could try carpool.

Might not be a bad idea. Then I'll have more money for DVDs!

Man the public transportation here around the Denver area is great. You really do not need a car at all.

^You've earned my jealousy ;)

What else is there to talk about these days??? What's for lunch people? I'm debating between a deep-dish pizza shop and Subway. I oughta do right & "Eat Fresh", but man that deep-dish is calling me....

Well... we had Philly cheese stake for lunch. Actually... it was my mom's version of it (which is pretty close).

Howdy, everyone! I'm baaaacck! At the very least intermittently. :)

Sorry for seeming to have deserted you all, but I needed a break to concentrate on other things. I confess I've lurked for the past few months, so it turns out I couldn't stay away permanently!

I've also managed to scrimp enough to start buying the Voyager DVDs, so I'll probably start popping into that forum as well.

(Oh, and if no one remembers who the hell I am, it's okay, I understand :( :D)

^ Welcome back Monty. It's good to see you again. :)

Me and my g/f have almost finished watching Farscape. We just watched Prayer, so we've only got four episodes of S4 left, and then the PKW mini series. :)

^Wow! At the rate you were going when I went on hiatus, I thought you would have been done with the series months ago! :D

I myself still haven't bought my own copy of S4 or PKW. (I've got the first 3 seasons). The completist side of me occasionally screams with rage at that!

Wow dude. Welcome back.

Hey, good to see you back Montresor! :)

I was missing seeing that nodding O'Brien popping up around the place. There was a thread in the Admirals' lounge a while back asking where you were, so quite a few people noticed your absence.

Yeah, well moving to Europe took a bit of a toll on the amount of time we can spend watching TV. :D But now that we're all settled in, we watched quite a bit of it again.

My advice, get the rest of Farscape first and then get Voyager. :D While both of them are over-priced, you do have most of Farscape already. ;)
