It's good to be back in here. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed posting in DS9. Now, I just need to watch the show more often.
Last night was pretty fun when the fireworks went off. The local show at the speedway sucked like usual, but the ones being set off around the neighborhood were more enjoyable. There was a new law here about fireworks that leave the ground being banned (they still allowed sales on fireworks that did, but the buyer had to sign a form saying they wouldn't set them off in Idaho.) There were a good 3 or 4 times as many going off this year.

^ Heh. If they expect folks to not set off what amounts to explosives in IDAHO, they really need to get a reality alert.

No kidding. I've known more than a few folks here whose idea of a good time is to go to the desert and get drunk while watching the muzzle flash of their guns.

My ex-husband and I used to go to a gravel pit outside Boise to sight in his various bazookas for hunting season.
I got pretty damn good at paper plate hunting with a .22 rifle, if I do say so myself!
And I didn't even use a fancy sight. Just lined it up and blew those paper plates away! YEE-HAW!!!

Just got back from my birthday trip to the wine country. I can now see why California is quoted as the best wine state. Some of the wine I tried (Pinot and Zifindel) were excellent. I even found out because of the movies Sideways, Pinot sales are up and Merlot sales have been on the decline. I wonder why.
Anyway, it's great to be back home, even if it's only for a week and a half. I hope everyone had a great Independance Day yesterday. Mine was pretty good. We didn't see any fireworks, but I did see some at a baseball game last Saturday, and I saw the Disneyland Fireworks (50th anniversery) a month ago which were both spectacular.

Do you mean celebrities who'll be at Dragon*Con or BBSers? Most of the Firefly gang will be there this year, and I believe a few Trek stars and book authors. According to the site, Louise Fletcher has just been confirmed. Also, Max Grodenchik, Marina Sirtis & Robin Curtis are on the list. I thought KRAD & TerriO were making appearances, but I don't see their names on the list.

Among BBSers going, I only know of Sakrysta for sure (you should let her know about July 15 if you haven't already), though I see people mentioning it in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy area.

And I think Neroon always goes to Dragon*Con. And I'm hoping to get Worf412 back over here for that as well. He'll be in Tuscaloosa again by that time...
It's so nice to be thought of! *sniffle* I'll be out of town the meet-up weekend, unfortunately. I AM going to Dragon*Con, however. Last year was both mine and Neroon's first year, and doggonit, we didn't even know each other were there!
Oh well, this time we know. KRAD and TerriO are definitely going to be there. JadziaDragonRider1, and Defiant-A and his girlfriend will be there too. That's all I know for sure from TrekBBS.Firefly folks so far confirmed attending are Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Jewel Staite, Adam Baldwin, Morena Baccarin, and Ron Glass.
Oh, and the whole reason I popped back into this thread to begin with... I never really got the Orlando Bloom obsession. He's cute, yeah, but in a too-big-for-his-britches teenager kind of way.
But I just watched the internet first look and the trailer for Elizabethtown.

Anyway... I'm flying back home tomorrow. I'm more or less all packed (except for my carry-on) and I am sooooo looking forward to seeing my family again (and my dog, I actually think I miss her the most lol).

I have so missed this place. My husband and I had to move at the last minute and I've had virtually no internet access since June 23rd, no cable either. Got caught up on a lot of DVD's that had never been watched. I have a lot to catch up on but so very glad to be back.

Well I had the last two seasons of Mash, finished Newsradio (Phil Hartman = comic genius), Scrubs, Seinfeld, new BSG mini, Arrested Development, Memento. There may have been more. It was so weird having no cable or pc. We couldn't get any channels to come in so I didn't even get the local weather.

^ Thanks, and yeah I have been enjoying myself though I had a bit of a hard time staying awake, lol. I've slept about 3 hours in the last...almost two days lol.

^ Thanks! I absolutely love the car. It's just so... well cute, damnit lol. It really is cute. And I was really surprised at how awesome my old CD player sounds in it compared to my old car. I'm gonna go register it today, so I can actually drive it lol.
