Hey guys,

It's been a very busy few days here in So Cal. Today is the first day this whole trip we have the ability to actually relax, so I am plenty of time today.

So far, it's been a great trip. On Memorial day, we just visited San Diego and took a tour of the city. We went to Old Town, and kind of made plans for Saturday morning. I love history, so one of the stops on the tour was the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier, which I might go on this week. It depends on what the plans are. That night, in a goal to visit all the MLB teams current home stadium, we took in a Padres game to Petco Park. It's a nice stadium, but being biased from the Bay Area, it's not nearly as good as SBC (Giants home).

Tuesday might have been the most exhusting day. We took an hour and a half drive to Universal Studios, which was pretty good. I've been there before, so I just did the classics like Back to the Future (Beings back so many memories of when they would advertise the ride back in the late 80s), Jurassic Park (Which it seems like they tamed, no pun intended  ) and just toured the place. Than we went to enemy... ah I mean Dodger stadium which was a much better experiance than Petco. For one, we were sitting in a section where if you were a Dodger fan, you were in a minority and there were fans of many different teams, including other Giants fans. Also, the game wasn't as boring as the Pads were. Of course after this stadium, I still consider SBC the greatest place to watch a game in Baseball.

Finally yesterday, we went to the most greedy place on earth, Disneyland. :D Of course I love Disneyland (Yeah there are a few corporate america things that I do enjoy), so it was a fun day, even though it was really crowded. Of course it's always crowded, except for a time I went for my birthday. Did all the classics (Still think Space Mountain is the best, followed closely by Thunder Mountain and the Indiana Jones right) and will go to CA Adventure and back to Disneyland tomarrow.

Anyway, so the trip is going really well. I can't wait till I get back into the Bay Area though. I wouldn't want to live in LA, but San Diego might be nice. The commute traffic is not as bad here as it is in LA or even Chicago. ;)

Glad you're enjoying your vacation, tomalak301! I visited San Diego a few years ago, and it was a really nice place. I thought the malls were neat; think of the format of a regular indoor mall, say with 2 floors, except there's NO CEILING  It was neat seeing the sun pour through an otherwise normal "indoor" mall.

They say it never rains in Southern California. Um, it rained two days after I got there :p

Seriously, it's a very cool place, great weather, amazing. I can see why it's been considered one of the best places to live in the US.

Shameless, now you oughta know exactly where everything is in this bar by now! Live it up

Kevs,

If I wasn't living in the Bay Area or Seattle, San Diego would be my next choice. The traffic really isn't all that bad like in Chicago or LA, and it really is a nice city.

Whoever said that probably has never been to So Cal. It was overcast every single day I was there last week.

Well, I got home last Saturday night and it's great to be back. The trip went very fast, but we did so much stuff that it almost wore us out. On Friday, my dad and I went back to the Disneyland resort, but we spent much of our time at CA Adventure. I know nothing can compare to Disneyland, but I think I liked Calfornia Adventure better since there was more stuff from the young adults, and it was much more laid back. Disneyland was packed, which was another reason for going to the other park. I do suggest, if any of you go to the Disneyland Resort this summer for the 50th anniversery, stay for the fireworks show. It was probably the best Fireworks show I have ever seen, and a great tribute to 50 years of Disneyland. Also, it wouldn't be 50 years without the Electrical Perade, which we saw on Friday night.

On saturday, we visted Mission del Rey, which was nice but not as good as the SF mission Dalores.

How's everyone doing?

I'm tired and really really stressed. School is almost over, our program is done, which is useful, but we need to do our presentation of the project three times in the next three days. I for one really really hate public speaking (I also suck at it), my two partners are the same (well, they hate it). :)
We're presenting to our class tomorrow morning (we get marked on it). Later that day we're presenting to the IT staff (and maybe some other people) of the Pacific Forestry Centre (of the Canadian Forestry Services). And then we're presenting at our symposium to like... 100 people on triday. We'll also be running a booth where we'll be showcasing our program. Maybe I'll post some pics after the event. :)
Anyway, that's about it. Anything new with anyone else?

im doing alright. I got a great summer job that pays well and is extremely easy, however, the downside seems to be that I'm more in debt now than ever, with my car failing and of course my incessant lust for material possesions. On a completely unrelated subject (pfft!) I finally got my Ipod that I have been dreaming of. My precious 30 GB Ipod photo is the absolute Shiznit, and I can;t wait to upload ever single album released between 1963-1975.....now about that debt thing. ;)

BigFoot, good luck with your presentations! I'll be sending good karma your way!!! I hope it goes really well!

DK, I'm kinda surprised about the musical era that you are interested in. I thought you were pretty young...but now that you've posted that, I have to wonder.

I mean, I like that music...but I'm an old lady by BBS standards. ;)

You & me both man! I've been wanting to get a new PDA for a long time (trying to decide between the Tapwave Zodiac & the new Palm LifeDrive), but every time I look at that bill (at least $300, and I'd want some accessories to start with) I think of some credit I'm still paying for past material lusts. Oh well, I guess I'll try a better route and get it someday.

I wish you the best, BigFoot. If you don't mind me praying for your group's success, I will. Think of it this way; the more you do the speech, the better you'll get at it  I'm serious!

As for me? Other than working to pay off debt for my own material lusts, not much. I turned the big 3-0 this past Monday (funny, no b-day sign beside my name :(). Eh, it's not bad. I'm just amazed at how long the 20s actually seemed to me. Here's hoping for better in the coming decade. (as I clean up some of my mess from the 20s :D)

Congrats on your Birthday man! Thats a big change. Amd Vash, I am only 17, but it doesn't get any better than that time period, for music anyways. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who is finding himself a little low on cash these days. Also, the mechanic says he can't get my car in until next week, so here's hoping i make it that long.

Thanks man. :) I appreciate any good thought coming my way.
And happy birthday!!!!

I'm doing alright. I just got back from a job interview and I think I did pretty well. I hope the interviewer agrees, even though my second interview was a lot harder than the first.

Well I just got back from Batman Begins and I absolutely loved it. I loved Sin City, but I loved BB even more. It was just an awesome movie. I actually think I'm gonna go see it again and I haven't seen a movie twice at the theatre in a VERY long time. :) Anyway... it's late, so I'm gonna go to bed.

Thanks for the review. I've been looking foward to this movie and plan to see it tomarrow. I can't wait.

Batman begins is just incredible. Perfect cast, damned good plot, some of the best villians in the Rouges Gallery, just a perfect adaptation. Better even than Batman: Year One....yes i said it.

Well, the big event has concluded, I survived. :D Yeah, overall I think our project was definately one of the best. We did a ton of demos for people and they all seemed to love it. The presentation itself went pretty well. So yeah, I'm quite happy with the whole thing. I'm tired as hell though, I've been up since five.

:)

I just got home from the movie and below is what I wrote on another board. I don't think there are any spoilers, but in the interest of keeping it free from those who want to see it (Trust me, if you havn't seen this movie, see it and see it this weekend), I will put it in spoiler code.

Spoiler:
This is by far the best batman movie of the 5, and I would welcome a reinvention of the entire franchise starting with this. This is how Batman should have always been. I think the best thing about this movie was the outstanding cast. Bale was really convincing as Batman, and just as a man who really was struggling with his parents death. Caine was great as Alfred, and even Katie Holmes was impressive. I also loved the theme of really confronting ones fear which was dealt with perfectly in this film.

The villans were even cool. They weren't cartoonish like in the other films, but real people. Overall, this was just a great movie.

One other thing I really loved was the great musical score by Zimmer. I pretty much stayed for the entire final credits because the music was that good.

Grade: A

Glad to hear all went well for ya, BigFoot. Sounds like you're ready for some much-deserved rest. Enjoy!

tomalak301, I have the feeling you're talking about Batman Begins. I don't want to be any more spoilered than I probably already am, so I'll avoid the coded part. I plan on seeing it this weekend, so I'll check out your thread Monday.

Thanks man. :) Yeah, some rest definately sounds like a good idea. I will be doing diddly squat for the next couple of days. :D I still gotta do some stuff for school next week though (plus I have a final on friday) but that's no biggy. :)

And make sure you let us know what you though of Batman Begins. Like I said in the post I made a couple of days ago, I loved it! :D
