Man this thread has died down lately. So what's everyone been up to?

Me? Not much... I'm really looking forward to going home, I'm leaving in 11 days. :D Me and my g/f are gonna be pretty busy packing in the next ten days.

I also think I'm gonna go see The War of the Worlds on thursday. I've heard good things about it, so hopefully I'm gonna like it.

I also finally got the Farscape Starburst Edition Season 2 V2 today. :D So now me and my g/f can finally start watching season 2. :D

Hey Bigfoot and everyone,

I havn't been up to much, even though I think this week I might go see War of the Worlds. For some reason though because of the expensiveness of movies, this might be the last movie I see this summer, and I'm not really looking foward to it all that much.

I'm still in that Microeconomics class and have another one tonight. Other than that, I'm getting ready for a trip I'm going on this weekend to Sanoma County/Windsor, and my 21st birthday on Sunday. I'm really looking foward to it. :D

^ Good to see you guys! :)

I've just been working and walking/jogging in the evenings on my new treadmill.

Not much new to report at all, sadly.

Although I *am* looking forward to Vegas in about 6 weeks...and to the Atlanta meetup in a couple of weeks. :)

Wish you guys could come!

I'm just here :p

I finally did see Batman Begins. Hate to sound fanboyish, it's pretty much the best Batman movie ever! I agree with you tomalak31, it's a great way to reboot the franchise. I enjoyed the previous Batman films (the 1st Burton one was my favorite till now), but I have no qualms with them starting over. I love how believable this one is. All the characters had real meaning. For example, I've felt like the gangster villains were really thrown away as cannon fodder before, but they were absolutely essential here. And I like how all the villains tied in together. They didn't just throw people together here. I'll definitely see it again.

Ugh, a movie is all the news I really have to talk about. I need to get out more

Yeah, that would be cool. I'd really like to meet some of the people off this board (especially people that participate in this thread). :D

[Austin Powers]Yeah baby, yeah![/Austin Powers] :D I'm glad you enjoyed it, and yeah, it's definately the best Batman movie. I was never a fan of the series (though I did enjoy the Burton movies), but I was looking forward to BB for about six months before it was released. And it even exceeded my expectations, it was just awesome! :)

So are you seeing War of the Worlds?

Oh yeah, and glad to hear good things about it too. I'm just taking my sweet time as always ;) I'll prolly go this weekend unless I have some friends who want to see BB again.

Yeah, going to a real bar would be cool. :D

I was hoping to see War of the Worlds today with a friend, but he never got back to me. I just read the review and it was the best review our paper could give. I'm looking foward to seeing it.

Funny thing is, I didn't think that much of it from the previews. I planned on seeing it anyway because I like sci-fi (unless it just looks totally corny), but I wasn't all that enthusiastic. I haven't read any reviews or threads, but I've seen the positive vibe in titles and overall feeling of the movie. So I imagine the trailers don't do this film justice. I'm definitely looking forward to it now.

Well I had a fun day today. My and my project partners went to a last meeting with our client. The whole thing was very informal, it was just sort a 'what did you think of the whole thing' kinda meeting. We also got some lunch afterwards and talk about computer games for most of it lol. :D

After that my g/f picked me up, and guess what she got me at a used toy store...

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Howdy folks. It's been awhile since I posted in the DS9 forum.
Right now, I'm just working for the summer on the weekends, and waiting to hear back on whether or not I'll be able to attend school next year. Not much else going on besides that.

My brother and I saw Batman Begins last week. It was easily the best of the Batman movies, and definitely one of my favorite comic book movies. I haven't gotten too much into Batman outside of TAS, the other recent movies and the old series/movie, and the occasional comic book. It seemed closest to the feel of TAS.

Other than the plot with the microwave doohicky being typically over the top comic stuff, I liked that the movie was good as a movie first and not merely as an adaptation. It was free from the campiness and what not typical in comic adaptations. Most of the cast was great, and I liked the way Batman was developed here. Especially in the way Batman first appeared to the guys at the dock. I liked his introduction in the 1989 Batman, as well, but in BB, it seemed far more realistic for making Batman someone criminals would fear.

We were going to go see War of the Worlds this week, but will probably have to wait until the weekend is over now. I'm not as excited to see that one, but still would like to check it out. Same with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. After Episode III, the movie I was most looking forward to was Serenity (the closest it's been shown is the next state over :( ) and then BB.

Well I just got home from seeing War of the Worlds. I liked it... but I didn't love it. It was really well done but it just didn't have that... something. I can't quite put my finger on it. I also think that the ending (which is based on the book) is very anti-climactic. I do think they could have done it better (without changing the basic plot of it). It was still a good film though.

I saw it today too, and was really disappointed. There wasn't really much substance to the plot, and the acting was really bad, except for the young girl. There were many scenes that dragged on way too long, and the ending was both confusing and really sucked.

Well, This might be my last post in here for a few days. Tomarrow I might be on in the morning, but I start a vacation that includes Birthday # 21 on Sunday.

Welcome back Makurosu! Yeah, I think most of us can agree that Batman Begins is done the way Batman should be! I hope they can keep that feel going and give us an angle of Batman we've probably never seen on screen (except perhaps in the early seasons of Batman: The Animated Series).

Hmm, interesting to see some not quite positive reviews of WoTW. It was all the impressed reviews of this board and another I check that somewhat increased my desire to see it. I'll catch it sometime soon, I guess ;)

Cool toy, BigFoot  A ladyfriend of mine got me a Barbie-sized Sisko doll a while back. Can't say I was very enthusiastic about it (what can I say, I'm just not the doll-collecting type myself). I hope I made it seem like I was appreciative

^ Yeah, me and my g/f saw some of those dolls (I think it was Sisko and Kira) a while ago, and she asked me if I ever wanted one. I said no thank you. :D

Man, if she had given me the Defiant, I might've proposed right there...

...um, proposed we spend more time together that is. Unmarried :D

I haven't seen any of these movies you guys are talking about...but I just wanted to interject my greeting to Makurosu!!!

Good to see you back in here! :)

Hey all

I hope everyone is having a good day. After trying so much CA wine and having my first beer, I know I am :D
