And yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing your Gail av again.
Yep, I feel her coming  I'll probably put her back up today.
Nice. :D

I haven't heard of Appleseed before. I really haven't watched much anime lately other than a few eps of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
The story for Appleseed was written by the same guy that wrote Ghost in the Shell. It's got a kick-ass female as the lead (this time blonde, with short hair lol), and I've read a couple of reviews of it and I think I'm gonna like it a lot.

How much of GITS: SAC have you seen? I've got the first five volumes on DVD and I'm really trying to go through them slowly. I've only got one ep of V5 to go though, lol. :D I actually think I'm gonna start watching it from the beginning again. It's just so damn good.

Oh, I picked up GITS and GITS: Innocence the other day. I got a good deal on GITS2, I got it in a two-pack with another anime called Millennium Actress (never heard of it before) for $6 less then the normal price for GITS2. So yeah, I was happy with that. :D

Ep3 was my thought, but I couldn't remember if anything else special was coming out before then. I'll have to find something cool for it and go from there.
Yeah, I gotta come up with something cool for an ep3 av aswell. :)

Till then, the lovliness of Gail will have to do ;)
Sounds good to me. :D

On second thought, I may ride this H2G2 wave a little while longer with Ford and his trusty towel in hand. But for the viewing pleasure of all:

I won a Vol. 1 DVD, so I watched those episodes. But I haven't picked up the others yet. I've seen a few eps on Adult Swim. Otherwise, I'm a bit out of the loop. They're showing the last 2 eps of the SAC series this Friday & Saturday, so I'll catch them at least. I enjoyed GITS since the first movie, so I've been trying to keep up with the storyline. I may pick up the rest of the series one day and see it again, or hopefully Adult Swim will rerun it.

I also saw a GITS:Innocence and another movie bundled together, at Wal-Mart. I can't remember the price but it seemed like a decent deal. I don't remember the other movie's name.

I'd like something animated. I love that one somebody did of Palpatine using a crayon on Mace Windu  Maybe I'll come up with something.

Hey guys,

I'm so glad today is over. For the first time since last week, I feel like I can breath a sigh of relief. I had this big ass accounting test today which I studied my ass off. I havn't really been doing well in the class since the last test, so I really felt that I had to do well. I ended up getting an A, but this day was probably the most tiring day of the semester so far. I also had to sign up for more classes so it felt like everything was happening all at once.

^ If I may ask...which accounting class is this?

Erm...you *do* know I'm a CPA IRL right? ;)

It's intermediate/Financial accounting. The test was on Long term assets, the introduction to Time Value of Money, and Bonds.

No I didn't know you were a CPA. I guess I know where to turn to as another resource than. :D

Ah yes...Intermediate Accounting. The class that separates the accountants from....everybody else.

Bonds can be tough when you first get into them. I remember thinking that. Not sure what you mean by long-term assets. You talking about fixed assets? Or about stuff like intangibles (goodwill, etc)? Or about investments and stuff?

Anyway...hope you do okay! But remember this - the best thing about financial accounting is that it's all about applying theory.

I much prefer financial accounting to tax. Financial is about application of acounting theory to different situations - especially once you get out and practice in the real world. Tax is about memorizing a bunch of random rules that have no rhyme or reason...and then "forgetting" those rules the following year and memorizing a bunch of new ones. :p

But yeah...I'll be happy to help you, if I can. If you get in a real fix sometime with an accounting question, just post it in this thread and I'll be sure and see it.

Of course, everyone else may want to just skip those posts...less they keel over from the sheer boredom!

Both. I was studying property, plant and equipment, the four different methods of Depreciation, intangibles, and goodwill. The class was mainly going through all the different accounts on the balance sheet, from assets to stockholders equity.

Anyway...hope you do okay! But remember this - the best thing about financial accounting is that it's all about applying theory.

Thanks. I was told that it was all about the theory and I'm glad I'm learning it.

My dad is a tax accountent, so I kind of know what you're saying. With the taxes, you need to learn so many IRS rules and laws. I think I perfer learning the theory as well.

You know, I know I'm in a minority on this one, but my accounting class, even though it's hard, is my favorite class. At least I am learning stuff that will help me in the real world other than learning how to test statistical hypothisis or confidence interval or something like that. I come from a family who are all economists, and accountants so that might be a reason why I love this stuff.

Well, me and my g/f went to see Kingdom of Heaven today. First of all, I've got a slight confession to make to Vash. :D While I do like Orlando, one of the biggest reasons I wasn't sure if I was gonna like KoH was Orlando. I just did not think he could pull off a lead in a movie like this. But...to my surprise, he did. He was really really awesome, and I was thoroughly impressed. :)

Next up, Alexander Siddig. I absolutely loved his role, and he was great. Definately big thumbs up for our favourite Starfleet CMO. :) I would be so happy for him.

The biggest find of this movie would have to be Eva Green though. She was just so stunning and absolutely amazing. I really think/hope that career takes off, cos she's definately very talented.

Oh yeah, try to figure out who plays the King or Jerusalem when you watch the movie. It was driving me nutz, cos I couldn't figure it out. It was <span class="spoiler"><font class="small">Spoiler:</font><hr /><span>Edward Norton.</span><hr /></span> :)

Anyway, I would strongly recommend this movie to everyone. It's what Troy could and should have been. :)

Rotten Tomatoes has it at 42% so far. Seems that most of the critics like the movie visually, but complain that the story is uninvolving and not as interesting as it could have been.

I'm kind of unsure about this one.

Orlando Bloom's appearance notwithstanding. ;)

^ Well, I presume that Vash is going to want to see it soon. :) IMO, I actually preferred the plot, and the acting to the fight scenes. It's not that they weren't good, but after three LOTR movies, and then also things like Troy, Alexander, and King Arthur last year, big battles just aren't that impressive anymore. I do also think that the editing could have been better, a lot of the cuts in the fight scenes were just too quick.

Either way, I still really loved the movie. :)

Ok, I'm probably going on Vash's list for saying this, but I am unsure about this movie because of Orlando Bloom. I know he looks good and the girls love him, but I don't think he can act. He was terrible in Troy, and wasn't all that great in Pirates of the Carribian (He was alright, but Johnny Depp made up for it). I guess I would want to see it to see everyone else, (Sid, Eva Green, and Jeremy Irons) but if I do see it, Orlando is not the reason.

That's my opinion as well. Bloom wasn't able to carry the movie, he was miscast IMO. Good supporting cast however including the best performance I've seen Alexander Siddig give. Lop-sided script. Fantastic production values.

I finally got my new av up. :) It sucks that I couldn't find any more useful pics, but oh well. Two are gonna have to do it.

^The av looks cool. I may have to rent that DVD sometime and check it out.

Eva Green is probably most popular (well, up to now) for her role in The Dreamers, where she and her brother do some unmentionable things with each other and a lucky American caught in the middle. The film was rated NC-17, so that alone caused controversy. She was recently reported to have complained that Ridley Scott left out a hot, steamy sex scene between her & Orlando Bloom. Now that's different for an actress to complain about them NOT doing a sex scene

Glad to hear that Siddig did a good job. I'd like to catch this movie mainly to see his part in it.

Thanks. :) I've never actually seen the movie, but the trailer for it looked great and it's fairly cheap too ($17.99 CDN).

About the hot steamy sex scene. You said she complained that Ridley Scott left it out. Did you mean it was in the script and he never even shot it, or that he shot it but it didn't make it into the final cut. Cos if it's the latter it might show up on the DVD. :)

Yeah, I really loved his role and I thought he did a great job. Wouldn't it be awesome if his career took off? :)

According to this article, it was shot in all it's steaminess ;) But Scott chose to cut it. Maybe it'll get on the DVD, if Scott agrees to it. Then again, that "news" may have been leaked to muster up some interest in an "uncut" DVD. Hmm! ;)

That'd be cool. I mean William Shatner and a handful of other Trek alums have steady work. I hope Siddig can keep some too!

May not be in that article, but Eva Green expressed how she had no problem doing that scene with Orlando Bloom. Oh boy!

I know one person who'd go for the "uncut Orlando" DVD, eh Vash? :p
