^ I'm safe and back in Canada. :) Me and my g/f gave eachother most of our x-mas prezzies last night. That was fun. I got King Arthur (extended DC), Collateral and The Rock. :D Plus a ton of other fun stuff.

Well I went DVD shopping today (man I missed doing that), and I got a couple of things:
- Joss Stone: Mind, Body & Soul Sessions - I love her music and I've been dying to get this DVD :D
- Resident Evil: Apocalypse - I've been wanting to get some sort of a zombie movie for my DVD library, but I've never really found one that was more action then horror (the horror bit doesn't do anything for me). So yeah...today I got RE:A which I thought was a very fun film
- The Recruit - I saw this film a while ago and I really liked it. I'm also a big fan of Colin Farrell, so when I saw the DVD today for a good price, I had to get it. :) Oh and it's got Bridget Moynahan in it, looking as fetching as ever. :D

I also thought about getting Troy, but I didn't. I didn't care all that much for the movie (it did have some good parts), the only really awesome thing was Eric Bana as Hector. I also wanted to get the Battlestar Galactica mini-series, but they didn't have it at neither FutureShop or WalMart. :(

I bought Sex and the City this week (a week late) and we are planning on purchasing Battlestar Galactica - the miniseries.

I'm not sure about Troy yet. I love looking at Orlando and all...but I could care less about Brad Pitt or the story itself. I agree about Eric Bana - he was very good. But are Eric Bana's acting and Orlando's looks worth the $19 or so this film will cost?

I don't know....

Certainly not for me :p

I need to watch Troy again. I actually enjoyed it, until Eric Bana died (I don't consider that a spoiler since the story's about as old as time). But maybe I just liked seeing the swashbuckling and feminine backsides ;)

Well, no one is more into Orlando than I am....but I have him in alot of movies already...and his part in Troy is kinda that of a weenie-boy. :p

I just don't know if I want to watch him be a weenie-boy again.

Maybe I should buy it, and just watch with the sound turned off!

Ain't that the truth  :D

She finally sees the light  Maybe that's why I don't like the rest of Troy; after Bana dies, it's up to Orlando  Eh, I guess he couldn't help it. His role is that of a weenie who couldn't keep his to himself even to save his own people :p

^ Yeah...I'm torn.

I mean, it's not Orlando's fault that his character was a weenie. Orlando was just playing the role given him.

However, I'm just not sure it fits in with my Orlando Mystique to keep watching him playing a weenie-boy over and over and over.

^
There's an Orlando "mystique"??? Okaaaaaaaaaaaaay... :p :D

Hello, all. :D I got the BSG pilot on DVD the other day and on the whole I was impressed. I may actually have to watch the show when it turns up on TV here. Of course, that event is some time away yet, but never mind. :D

Well, that settles it. Orlando love has marked the death of this thread ;)

Until now! Now it is resurrected with all the zeal and fury of the former days, those happy golden days! Where we were rife with excitement and any small utterance was greeted with joy and merriment! Ah, those were the days! And they're back!

So, um,...

...what's up with y'all?

...hears crickets, moves along :p

^ lol :D

What's up? Not much. I'm going to school, most of the time.
I found two fun movies at FutureShop for $7.99 CDN the other day. The first one being Executive Decision and the second one Demolition Man. Both of them are just very fun action flicks. :)

Anyway, me and my g/f plan to go see Elektra movie. We've both been looking forward to this movie, so hopefully it'll be fun. Is anyone else gonna go see it?

^ We will probably see it, BigFoot. Coaster has a certain affinity for Jennifer Garner, after all!

Actually, you will be pleased to know that I will *finally* be seeing Underworld. It's currently on HBO, and we TiVo'd it the other night. :)

I'm looking forward to it, given all the avatar hype around here!

Cool! :) IMO it's a fun film with pretty good action, and Kate looks great in it.

Hi all.

I can't believe I have to go back to school in a week. Of course I've been off for a month, so I'm kind of looking foward to it. I can't wait till later tonight. I will finally see if I'm really into Battlestar Galactica with the mini-series I taped last night. I hate to admit it, but I saw 2 episodes of the original series, and it wasn't that bad, even though it was very star warsish and corney. I can't wait.

Ah yes, nothing like Jennifer Garner... affinity... ;)

I'll also be at the theater to see Elektra. It looks like this one might be a lot less disappointing than Daredevil. Plus I seem to remember a trailer was going to be featured before this that I was interested in. Can't remember which one though! :p

I've seen a lot of talk about BSG on the boards lately. Isn't Ron Moore involved in that one? Glad to see some Niners doing good work. I'm looking forward to the return of The 4400 myself. Hopefully, we'll get more than 5 eps!

Well a while ago it was rumoured that the Serenity trailer was going to be showed with Elektra. Well, now that they moved Serenity to september, that's not the case.
OTOH, it was just announced that the trailer for The Fantastic Four was going to bed showed with Elektra.

Yep, Ron Moore is running the whole thing. :) So far he's done an amazing job.

Serenity!???!! NOOOOO!!!! They just HAD to push it back, didn't they? :scream: Oh well, I guess I'll be ok. Hopefully, it'll get more attention in September anyway.

You'll have to post and tell us what you think about BSG!!!

Alright. I saw the mini last night (I taped it) and here was the review I wrote on another board.

I didn't know much about BSG before I saw the mini tonight. I had seen some episodes of the original (Which was alright but looked way too much in style like Star Wars) and some of Galactica 1980. (Which I cringed at the first episode when they showed Dr. Zee so I stopped) Basically I went in to the Mini-series with an unbiased opinion.

While I do have my complaints, I thought overall the mini was very good. First with the complaints, what was up with the camera angles. It was kind of annoying with the circular motion during the quiet scenes and the jilting of it during the battles. Also, the pacing was a bit off, especially in part one. It took a long time before the Nuke went of in Caprica City.

Now the good parts. I don't care if Starbuck is a women, or Boomer is a women. If what I saw in the original is any indication, Starbuck is supposed to be a kick ass power force. She sure was in this mini. I loved the scene when she saves Apollo's ass twice during the final battle with the Cylons. Come on apollo, you are not only the captain, but you are supposed to be the best, which is why you lead the viper force. If you have to be saved by a girl twice, something is mightally wrong with you.

I did like the characters as well, and really found to care about these people. It was a shame that Helo sacrificed himself since I was starting to like him alot. Adama is a great leader, even though he kind of reminds me of Gil Grissom from CSI. I don't know why. I'm not quite clear about Dr. Belter. The original series portrayed him as this evil guy, but in the mini, he doesn't know who he is. I guess it just adds to the character, but can't wait to see him develop more in the series.

If you haven't figured already, I'm on board for the series. I can't wait to see what happens to these people. Oh, and part 2 was much better than the very dark and depressing part one. I can't believe I'm looking foward to this series and the fact that I'm very excited about it. Hell, I didn't even know what BSG was until this week.

Spoiler:
Final thought about the mini, and it has to do with Boomer being a Cylon. Of all the people they could have had Cylon agents for, why her? I was just starting to like her. Who knows, I might still like her.

^ Let me just say, that the actual series has quite a few surprises up it's sleeve. :) And I bet you're gonna like Boomer. I mean, how can you not, Grace Park is such a cutie. :D And yeah, I'm glad you like the mini. IMO if someone liked the mini, they're gonna love the series aswell.
