Welcome new Voyager fans!

I've never heard the song, alas; I may look it up. :)

Song To The Siren was also covered by The Cocteau Twins, Susheela Raman, The Czars... (The Czars' version is my favourite. The original 1970 Tim Buckley album Starsailor - beautiful title, isn't it? I think a band stole it - is unreleased on CD but was re-released on vinyl last year. Not that I recommend it, it's mostly experimental music, for unconditional Tim Buckley fans.)

"Writer extraordinare"? Why thank you.
Happy premienne jour de la semaine!

Actually, don't be offended, but I was mostly trying to show you the correct spelling of 'extraordinaire' while hinting to having viewed your profile where I picked up the word.

In France the premier jour de la semaine is Monday, not Sunday... and it's beginning now.
Good luck with your grammar. I'll be glad to answer your questions about French, although perhaps not on this forum.

They're too beautiful, so I'm posting the lyrics to

SONG TO THE SIREN
Long afloat on shipless oceans/I did all my best to smile
'Til your singing eyes and fingers/Drew me loving to your isle
And you sang/Sail to me/Sail to me/Let me enfold you
Here I am/Here I am/Waiting to hold you

Did I dream you dreamed about me?/Were you hare when I was fox?
Now my foolish boat is leaning/Broken lovelorn on your rocks,
For you sing, "Touch me not, touch me not, come back tomorrow
O my heart, O my heart shies from the sorrow"

I am puzzled as the newborn child/I am troubled at the tide
Should I stand amid the breakers?/Or should I lie with Death my bride?
Hear me sing, "Swim to me, Swim to me, Let me enfold you
Here I am, Here I am, Waiting to hold you

The beginning of that song often comes to my mind when I'm in the space faring mood.

Hey, there's no dreamy smiley.

Hello, I am Penguin. I have just arrived on this board about a week or so ago and this is the first time I have looked in on the Voyager threads.

I am a voyager fan of some standing. Not Avid, but a fan.

I hope I can post to some of the threads here.

I have to read a lot to catch up with what has gone before but it will be interesting.

Thanks.:)

Welcome to the most FAR-OUT 75,000 light years out : ) Voyager BBS in this or any other Quadrant or Galaxy for that (anti)matter... Looking forward to your postings...

Sincerely,

Oh I just saw this thread... oops... I posted a new thread in the main page saying hello before I spotted this one... can I blame time travel or some strange anomaly? Well, it IS a Voyager forum...

:)

Welcome to the board Lucy. :)

You asked a question about Neelix in your other thread, so I think we can leave that one be. ;)
Don't be afraid to ask questions or start threads. Jump right in. The sharks lurking in here don't bite too hard.

Hi, Lucy. Welcome.
Any new thread with subjet matter is welcome. It must seem to veterans that everything has already been said.
*Edit after accidentally early posting*
Hence the relative infrequency of new threads.
But It's always nice to see some fresh debate in this quadrant of the Trek BBS.

Everything has been said, about 10 times over.

That's why I like to see new people getting into Voyager. Even though I don't post as much in here, like I used to, I still like reading new people's thoughts on the things we've had discussions on in the past.

Yes, I guess I've really missed the boat by a few years to find this particular forum thriving... I guess I've just rediscovered Voyager and wanted to find somewhere to yabba on about it again! LOL...

So whats with all the Neelix hating? Lol...

Don't beat yourself up too much. I heard that at the time people were posting bat'leth in hand and daqtagh at the belt. Nowadays it is safer to express an opinion in the Voyager forum. (Although an outspoken person cannot avoid the occasional skirmish.) ;)
