Thanks everyone for your welcome! I hope I can be an upstanding member of this community (and survive wearing this red shirt I was apparently issued...). I noticed that Richard S. Ta has just started an ENT spoiler-free rewatch thread over on the Star Trek: Enterprise forum, and I've just begun my very first watch-through of that series, so I'll be following along.

It's nice to meet you. Richard is amazingly eloquent and his reviews are fantastic. That thread is a real treat.

If by ‘just’ you mean a year ago, then yeah, I ‘just’ started it. And I still haven’t finished Season 1!

Aw! That’s lovely to hear. Things like this and a lovely personalised emoji from @Timofnine spurred me into watching Vox Sola today (it was alright). I really just write for my own pleasure and so it’s really something to hear that you guys enjoy that.

Hopefully I’ll get a chance to write up thoughts on the latest over the next few days.

Hi there!

Newbie here, though a long time nerd. While I'm old enough to have watched the 90's Trek while it aired originally, it was never broadcast in my country. My first exposure to Trek was the 2009 JJ Abrams reboot, which lead me to believe the franchise was generic guns go "pew pew" science fiction. Years later, I watched Mike from RedLetterMedia talk about VOY's episode "Deadlock", though it sounded cool, watched it and fell in love with the series. For real though, I'm still legitimately low key in love with Captain Janeway. To this day, Voyager is my main jam: https://i.imgur.com/UmxS2nU.jpg

I love DS9, and I've recently hunkered down and tried for the second time to watch the entirety of TNG. My first attempt failed when I ran afoul at the dreaded season 1. I skipped it this time, went directly to season 3, and while I like it a lot better - Yesterday's Enterprise is *chef's kiss*, I still find many episodes borderline unwatchable. I'm looking at you, Rascals and Aquiel. Feel free to pelt me with tomatoes in the comments.

I’m curious to know how TNG stands up as a body of work. I recall loving it in the early part of the century but it’s been a long while since I saw 95% of it.

Maybe in 2025 when I finally attempt to redeem These Are The Voyages I’ll make a TNG rewatch thread.

It's not too late for you to rewatch TNG (and TOS and Voyager) alongside Enterprise, alternating between episodes like I've been doing! You just need to get through the season 1s quickly, then you can get them synced up.

Okay I admit I cheated a little bit and watched season 7's The Pegasus right before These Are the Voyages... It didn't help.

Season 2 is the peak of Next Gen to me. It's just that among the greatness, there are a few embarrassing ones.

I have attempted to rewatch it and struggled with Season 3. I would be curious to hear when you do.

Now that ‘strange new worlds’ are out, a remake og the time where TNG are from would be super great, if you ask me.

I struggle a bit with the whole Q part of Star Trek, but when I saw TNG as the first star trek series, I have always had a particularly good relationship with the series, but after I have streamed 4 different star trek series for the last many years, in rotation on Netflix I must say that the fascination of the next generation has fallen, but it was my entrance into the Star Trek universe and will always have a special place in my heart.

I get that. TOS, namely "The Cage" and "Where No Man Has Gone Before" was my insert and I always will enjoy those.

I...
am in the process of watching TNG, DS9, and Discovery! I haven't been a fan for too long, but I am happy to have it now a part of my life. I prefer Star Trek over Star Wars, andd hope to perhaps do some more Star Trek cosplay in the future. I've had a try at Data, and now want to give a go at someone neat like Dax, or Lwaxana. heh

I'm new here and think I should say hello.

Hello.

I'm very much into TOS from a very long time ago and I'm enjoying SNW at the moment. I've joined more to learn than anything else. I thank you.
