Hello, fellow Trekkie and apparently Trekker.
I start into Star Trek when Voyager still air on television, I remembered I confused TNG with VGR and thought it was day shift and night shift respectively, until then my grandpa explained me that TNG were rerun alongside with VGR, I was damn upset that I never will see Data interaction with these VGR crews, haha.
For longest time, I believe I suppose do Vulcan Salute with my left hand; damn, Tuvok. Well, now I can do both hands.
So far, just grandpa and myself are a Trekkie, although my youngest brother starting watch TOS, (fingercross) we will have more Trekkie within the family.
So these small STrek tidbits about me.
Looking forwards for new PIC tomorrow!

Hello everyone! I'm DK. I joined a couple of days ago and just found this thread, so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm obsessed with Trek, from the original series, up to the current instalments. I'm a freelance writer/podcaster and I'm also into Marvel, Star Wars and Twin Peaks.

Hope you all have a great weekend and a Happy Easter!

Hi everyone. I'm a new member so thought I might introduce myself.

I discovered Star Trek when I was a kid back when TOS was in syndication. I had already been interested in science, space travel, and science fiction even when fairly young (and ended up as a professional scientist), that and the accessibility of TOS (on my local channel every weekday - sometimes) lead to it being a presence up to my teenage years. It started to drop off my radar around the time the original-cast movies were in production and TNG was beginning - during and after that time I was living in various non-English-speaking countries and it would be an extremely rare thing for me to come across a TNG episode (dubbed into the local language so it was hard going - and it always seemed to be the same episode I would chance upon).

I must have seen all of the TOS episodes many many times, am fairly familiar with them and have a pretty well-established list of which episodes I consider "essential Star Trek". In terms of movies, I preferred 1, 2, 3, and 6. Since then, I have watched TNG and DS9, but each episode only once, so although I preferred DS9 over TNG, I think I'd need to watch both series again to firm up my opinions. I haven't seen the TNG films. I've seen a handful of ENT and VOY episodes, but none of the post-2009 Star Trek with the exception of the "Kelvin timeline" movies.

I think I was aware of the existence of the Trek BBS for many years, but since I had mostly drifted away from Star Trek I had never signed up or even lurked on its forums. I have never been active in fandom in the sense of going to conventions or things like that. I guess Star Trek just felt like a private thing to me and that was perhaps reinforced by the somewhat disdainful popular view around "Trekkies" and fandom in general back when my interest in Star Trek was at its height.

To be honest, I'm not even quite sure why I've taken the plunge at this time to sign up to the BBS. I've even started on a systematic watch/rewatch, starting with ENT (I'm a couple of episodes in so far). My interest in Star Trek seems to be reviving. I guess it never went completely away.

Great to have you here. I, too, am a TOS fan and dabble in the other movies and series. I first got interested in the Trek Tech technobabble discussions, but now I "roll" around the various boards. :rommie:

I'm not realy a hard core StarTrek fan that has ranked every episode, rather someone that used to love to watch every StarTrek episode when aired on television. Mainly Next Generation, Voyager, DS9 and Enterprize. Memorable episodes were Blink of an Eye, Little Green Men and Endgame. I was never really into TOS episodes which I found kind of silly. The TOS movies were great however. I watched Discovery on Netflix which I liked for the most part and now watch Picard on Amazon which I find disappointing to more I see. I'm however hopeful for Strange new Worlds

Oh, in case anyone is wondering, I'm the same FreeThinker that worked on KSP Interstellar Extended, the KSP which includes FTL drives and atimatter drives.

Thanks everyone for your welcome! I hope I can be an upstanding member of this community (and survive wearing this red shirt I was apparently issued...). I noticed that Richard S. Ta has just started an ENT spoiler-free rewatch thread over on the Star Trek: Enterprise forum, and I've just begun my very first watch-through of that series, so I'll be following along.

Love this post so much, what an amazing idea for two Star Trek series running concurrently side by side! Day shift and night shift! AMAZING! No need for alternate or parallel universes though… because they say it changes when the sun goes down around here…:guffaw::rommie:

If by ‘just’ you mean a year ago, then yeah, I ‘just’ started it. And I still haven’t finished Season 1!

Aw! That’s lovely to hear. Things like this and a lovely personalised emoji from @Timofnine spurred me into watching Vox Sola today (it was alright). I really just write for my own pleasure and so it’s really something to hear that you guys enjoy that.

Hopefully I’ll get a chance to write up thoughts on the latest over the next few days.
