We shall see! My wife is going to loosen the leash this weekend. I have a friend for the family who works at the local theatre. Going to let me see the movie and then keep going back in after they clean it...sure it will only play three times a day now, saturday-sunday, but I see six times in my future!!! which will put me at 18!!!

Doesn't look that way. Is the international film community that different from 30 years ago? Are their more choices per nation that would appeal to said nation's audience more than an American produced sci-fi flick?

Sci-fi was coming off of Star Wars, and STTMP offered up a big SF spectacle...it was only after it was out for awhile that people all over the world were disappointed...many ticket buyers never came back.

The actual numbers for this past weekend are in, and Star Trek's take was underestimated. It actually went UP by 1% from the previous weekend, to $5.5 million!
