Ways that SNW actually improved TOS

I'm just glad that Discovery got Trek going again.

People can piss & moan all they want about it (I'm not in that category), but without DISCOVERY, we'd probably still be waiting for a new Trek movie/TV show seven years after BEYOND.

but, we would have so many amazing fan series by this point......

Says who. I actually enjoyed seeing the early versions regular Starfleet tech come into play.

The NX-01 didn't launch with Photon Torpedoes, it had Spatial Torpedoes. Didn't have phasers either, it had Phase Cannons, which weere new technology when they finally installed them. I maybe wish they stuck with the plasma weapons a little longer, but Phas(ers) are just ingrained into Star Trek.

I also love the crew weariness of using the transporter. You can understand why people might be a little afraid to have their molecules scrambled, so we got shuttlepods and actually having to land on an alien planet.

Enterprise gets top marks from me for showing the development and early stages of things that are quintessentially Star Trek.
i detract points, for never showing three separate bulky scanning devices getting combined and miniaturized into a TRI corder. lol.

IIRC, they were often outpowered by those they met. Almost all the TrekTech was presented as new. Especially phase weapons and transporters. No shields or tractor beams on the NX-01.

so early on we were already getting things like alien holodecks. it was just too much.

ENT only makes sense when you can take into account things like time wars, borg drone technology, timeline rewrites and outside meddeling.

then they go and screw that up with season 4, which is what the entire show should have been originally, but coming in after the first 3 seasons make it very clear this is an altered-by-time-war time-line, its too little too late, and actually messes things up.

Lasers is just another way of saying phasers but with less realism.
Why can't aliens have technology more advanced than humans? Aliens in TOS had tech not available to the Federation.
From the other perspective, the Hiigoran (spell?) and Voyager with the Holodecks. Or the Kazon and water. Or the Borg and Data. Etc...

Nope

Enterprise was a prequel, so everything that happened in that show already happened from TOS's perspective. Even the timeline changes.
Nope. In the original timeline the NX was supposed to be destroyed in an accident. It was saved as part of the time war. They were supposed to die, not become instrumental in forming the federation, let alone giving importance to the name Enterprise.

ENT is a direct product of first contact and the time war, at least in its first couple seasons.

Or the entire "Prime timeline" is a product of First Contact and the time war. 🤔

almost every small background detail about the 22nd century and early days, mentioned in early TNG and TOS, has been contradicted. This only makes sense if what we watched was the linear sequence of temporal events. ENT and DSC are not actual narrative prequels. The franchise should be watched in production order. TOS, TNG+, FC, ENT, DSC, SNW. The timewar extends backwards, as evidenced in SNW, which blatantly shows a rewritten 20th/21st century.

I've yet to find one.

I will defend STC until the end of time. Its what drew me back to Trek fandom after a 2 decade break caused by the TNG movies.

The crackdown and guidelines woudln't have been so severe if there was no new Trek coming. They would have singled out Axanar and the rest would have continued unencombered. With modern technology and the at-the-time-allowed budgets, we would be hitting some fantastic peak content by now.
