Waters of Mars Airdate?

Still no offical airdate, though the Press Launch is Friday so it can't be that far away but with images like this...

...you have to wonder how many kids are going to be having nightmares whatever night it ends up being on.

Airing it on Halloween would have been shrewd.

I said that and was shouted down because all the kids would be trick or treating. Be interesting to see if that impacts on Merlin's rating...

Tennant confirmed it'll be on Sunday the 15th at 7pm, this morning.

A wise decision by the Beeb as trying to squeeze it into Saturday's packed schedules would have done more harm than good. Now all it's up against is a repeat of TV Burp and Family Fortunes. (So no competition at all.)

Hurrah!!!!

Although it is kinda odd, I mean it's just going to sit there as a one off, there's no special revelance to it's timing or anything. At least Planet of the Dead was an Easter ep. I still think they should have gone with Halloween, but I guess that'd have thrown Merlin's schedule out again.

Still it looks potentially a lot better than PotD so I'm sure it'll be brill, whenever it is!

The original plan was to show it on Saturday the 19th of December (and indeed the episode itself takes place on that date in 2059). At this late stage bringing it forward a month doesn't make a whole lot of difference but 16 days to go is better than 50!

Oh yeah 2 weeks is better than 6+ weeks, would have made for a nice little mini season over Christmas though. Do we have any clue when the final 2 parter will be shown (other than one ep definitely being on Christmas day)

I wouldn't bet on anything other than New Year's Day, which after Xmas Day tends to pull in the highest ratings.

The most watched drama on BBC1 in 2009 (episodes of 'Eastenders' excluded) is still the 'Joanathan Creek' special shown on January 1st.

Excellent news! Waters of Mars at 7pm and straight over to BBC2 for all new Top Gear at 8pm. BBC, I salute your genius.

Now that the BBC has made its decision, hopefully BBC America in the US and Space in Canada will be able to set dates now, too. Unfortunately, as they set their schedules quite a bit farther in advance than the BBC does, I don't expect to see it in November over here (though I'm willing to be surprised). As far as Space goes, if I were a betting man I'd put my bets on them running Waters and the finale as a three-night event around New Years, or Christmas if the final Tennant special ends up airing in the UK on Boxing Day rather than New Year's Day (everyone assumes Part 1 will air on Christmas day).

I'm excited about Waters of Mars being on November 15th... A happy half-birthday to me!!! :D

Ummm... why? Four days isn't too lon to wait. Oh. Unless you don't get BBCA. In which case, my sympathies.

November 15th to December 19th = 34 days

Ironically I leave the U.S. for the U.K on December 17th (and won't be there long enough to catch the Christmas/New Years specials).
